But at the event, purchasable PVC figures are outnumbered pretty substantially by garage kits.     Winter WonFest 2017: Garage Kits

    As collectors, our focus for Wonder Festival is obviously on the things that you can, you know, actually buy. Which is a problem when there’s, like, two dozen characters. But they’re working as fast as they can!     Toy Fair 2017: Funko’s Overwatch Pop Series 2

    It’s time to accelerate!

    Funko’s Overwatch line has certainly been successful, but everyone wants their main to be released ASAP. Which is a problem when there’s, like, two dozen characters. But they’re working as fast as they can! Wave 2 was on display at Toy Fair, and it includes D.Va (in mech), Lucio, Mei, McCree, Symmetra, and Reinhardt. I’m still sad there is no tiny Bastion, but perhaps wave 3 will finally fill my robot dreams.

But given at this is a US-centric event, they had a TON more out and about, though funnily enough most of them were from non- comic franchises.     Aquamarine is not a company that usually brings the wow factor to events. I expect a small booth from them with a handful of sculpts, and way too many announcements. But they really brought it this year! Tons of new stuff and some truly awesome looking figures, like the header girl Jack-O’ Valentine from Guilty Gear. How cool is she?!

    Guys, I think Flare finally got me. I keep insisting, “No, too expensive, don’t need it!” But this year, I want everything so bad. Mostly because it’s almost entirely Tony Taka, which I can always get behind. Swimsuit versions of Won Pairon and Altina Mel Sylphis, and they’re doing a cute teacher (?!) Sakuya.

    The Rei from their teasers is here (but no sign of Noah yet, weird) and they WILL INDEED be doing a matching Asuka!! Yuss. We also have the beautiful dress Gwendolyn from last WonFest sculpted, and announcements for YoRHa No. 2 Type B from Nier: Automata and an original character from Happoubi Jin.

Then we’ve got like the entire cast of <em>Love Live! Sunshine!!</em> with Matsuura Kanan, Kurosawa Dia, Watanabe You, Tsushima Yoshiko, Kunikida Hanamaru, Ohara Mari, and Kurosawa Ruby so that you can recreate the show yourself a la <em>Robot Chicken</em>.</p> <p>Then continuing on with the anime we’ve got Rem and Ram from <em>Re:Zero</em> aka the same sculpt twice with super minor differences, but everyone’ll only buy Rem since she actually had a storyline unlike Ram, Tanya Degurechaff from <em>Saga of Tanya the Evil</em> (because Japan still has a hard on for little girls dressed up as the enemy from WWI or WWII), Klaus and Leonardo from the new season of <em>Kekkai Sensen</em>, Yukari Akiyama from <em>Girls Un Panzer</em>, and Misako Akeno from <em>High School Fleet</em>. Then from KanColle we’ve got three new entries with Yuudachi, Tokitsukaze, and Fubuki. FREEing also had a few figmas on hand with their massive Iron Fossil from <em>Dariusburst</em> as well as the <em>Bubblegum Crisis</em> Moto Slave and a figma ex:ride of Ray from <em>Kikou Souseki Mospeada</em>. Then over in experimental land we’ve got the amazing sculptor Takayuki Takeya taking on Devilman.</p> <p>Oh, but that’s not all. No. We also got *the best figma of all time*. What is it might you ask? What could be better than stuff like The Thinker? Oh, I’ll tell you. It’s the E233 Series Train. Yes, that’s right, it’s a literal figma of a train.
