    Nendoroid Hitagi Is Painted & Up For Order

    Of the massive amount of Nendoroids shown off at Winter Wonder Festival, clearly one of the most anticipated among them was Hitagi Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari. This is odd for so many reasons: first off, there’s nothing particularly special about her character design, and let’s face it: usually characters who get a lot of swimsuit figures are busty (Kanu, Tamaki, etc) or have other special attributes like craazy colored hair or wild personalities. Second, the franchise’s popularity has pretty much peaked: it doesn’t have the lasting longevity of something like <em>Haruhi</em>, and we don’t even get many figures of her!</p> <p>But for some reason, companies keep putting out figures of Misaka in beach ware: two companies in particular, Wave and Kotobukiya, and usually as Dengeki exclusives. Last time it was <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/magazine-scans-august-2012" target="_blank">for Dengeki’s 20th anniversary</a>, and this figure too will be a Dengeki exclusive. It’s actually quite nice, with two faces and a cast-offable shirt. But who is the manufacturer? It’s a mystery!     Misaka Mikoto from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun seems to be the reigning champ of swimsuit figures.     Nendoroid Snow Miku 2014′s Design Has Been Chosen

    In order to keep their Snow Miku Nendoroid designs fresh, Good Smile opens up the yearly decision to the public: this year’s theme was magical girls!     More Vocaloid Happy Kuji Nendoroids Are Coming

    In a cruel attempt to torment their fans with Nendoroids they can (probably) never have (unless they are filthy rich), Good Smile has recently started doing lottery-style additions to their Nendoroid line. Of course they’ve chosen the ridiculously popular Vocaloid family for this little experiment: so far we’ve had FamilyMart Miku and Santa Miku. They must have been a success, because now we are getting four more. Yes, four! And they’re not all Miku.

    Warrior Of Light Joins The Play-Arts Kai Lineup

    Well this is an unexpected announcement! Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy Play-Arts Kai usually focus on the later games in the series, VII and after for the most part. Actually, pretty much exclusively! But as you can see, they’re going back to the very beginning and bringing us the Warrior Of Light from the very first entry in the franchise. Also is it just me or does he look a little bit like EVA Unit-01 in the header shot?

    As terribly dull as I find that game, it’s nice to see them delving back into Final Fantasy’s history–there’s a lot of great character design for them to work with! Seriously, I was pawing at the glass when we first saw them. They couldn’t be released fast enough! Granted, I was a bit less enthusiastic about <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/toy-fair-2013-dc-collectibles-bombshells-line" target="_blank">Poison Ivy</a>–something about her didn’t seem quite as magical, but she still had a ton of fans, and rightfully so! Of course I was over the moon with excitement when we found out that Harley Quinn would be next.</p> <p>We were told there would be a bomb theme, but it seems that got dropped somewhere along the way. In my mind I had this fantastic image of Harley actually riding a bomb, like the pinup girls on the side of WWII planes. Imagine that! So for me, the final product doesn’t quite live up to my expectations. She’s nice, but not as nice as Supergirl, Wonder Woman and Poison Ivy: there’s a spark with the other 3 that seems to be missing here, which is sad because I adore Harley.     Harley Quinn Is The Newest DC Bombshell
