I love the designs, I own quite a few figures from the franchise, and I’m a huge fan of JRPGs so… what gives? Who knows, but I recently purchased Tales of Berseria and I’m excited to dive in. Once I finish some other games in my massive, frightening backlog. Seriously, it’s like 1,000+ hours of games in a scary tower.

Timed perfectly with my purchase is Alter’s announcement that Eizen will be joining their Altair line. It’s always surprising to see a male character given figures before a female one, but that seems to be Alter’s MO with this series. It’s really refreshing, even though I do hope they make a Velvet (and Magilou please) down the line.

[via Alter’s Blog]

I know we’ll never get a figure of my personal fave, super tan Professor Oak. Sigh. In any case, she’s gotten more attention in the figure world than your average Pokemon game companion, and even I have to admit that this figure is SO cute. I do hope we get a hair-up option for her because the late game ponytail was beyond adorable. It’s why we all stalk used websites and stores’ bargain bins! Most stores have annual sales, but Hobbylink Japan is really pulling out all the stops this year because it’s their 20th anniversary. Really puts into perspective how far figure manufacturing has come, doesn’t it? I mean, figures 20 years ago look laughable next to the amazing sculpts we get today. Ah, technology.

Anyway, HLJ will be running a special sale all month long. Every few days a new section of the store will open up to the sale: right now it includes monster figures, robots, action figures, and apparel. And it’s not bottom bin stuff here: Medicom products, figmas, S.H.Figuarts, Cu-Poche, and more are all part of the sale. And every purchase gets bonus store credit if the lowered price isn’t enough to tempt you! Plus you get a cute free gift with every order like cloth origami and Japanese fans. Check out the goodies right here and let us know what you snagged!
