If you follow us on Twitter, you might have noticed that we’ve been teasing an upcoming contest! We have been meaning to get some up and running for a while, but due to time and staff constraints it’s been a work in progress. Trust me, running a site with two people is a lot harder than we originally assumed it would be. But finally, our first official contest is here! And if just so happens that it’s our second birthday, so we decided to kick things off with a bang. Last year you could contribute to the site, but this time we’re giving back–and giving something big.
That’s right, no prize figures or blind boxes here. We’re giving away a full scale figure of Kotobukiya’s Cryska Barchenowa Plugsuit Edition, who we recently reviewed! And it is not the one we took out and rolled around in the grass. Oh no, this is a pristine, shiny, not even opened Cryska. And there are 3 different ways to win her! The first is easy–just leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite figure is, and why! We’ll be revealing the other 2 ways to get entries in the contest next week, once the Wonder Festival madness has died down.
[UPDATE] Want a second contest entry? Then follow us on Twitter and retweet this tweet (you must do both to qualify!)! Yes, it’s that simple! And we are still accepting comment entries as well, so don’t worry if this is your first time seeing this post!
[UPDATE 2] Need another entry? Simply like us on Facebook and comment on this post following the instructions! We are also accepting entries for methods 1 and 2, but the winner will be selected at the end of the week. Good luck, everyone!
[FINAL UPDATE] Congratulations to our winner, Stefanie Brignac! Cryska will be on her way to you in the very near future!
[Note: This contest is open to all countries! Be sure to use your real email when you comment, as that is what we’ll be contacting the winner through. I’d also like to note that originally I hoped to respond to everyone’s comments, but you guys have overwhelmed us! Suffice to say, we totally love you all!]
While is really hard to choose a favorite mine is maybe Chun Li (http://i.imgur.com/3sfvIze.jpg) by Max Factory, i loved the art of Kinu Nishimura and this figure really looks like her art would be on 3-D and the statue i’m most hyped for is the bishoujo version Kotobukiya is preparing, i love the pvc figures of Street Fighter in general.
Happy Birthday Plastikitty!
Favourite figure is hard…The very first I bought was Alter’s Momohime, she’s just gorgeous. Then I got Power Girl and I quickly developed a flowing capes fetish and needed to get more.
But I think the crown jewel of my current collection has to be Kongiku.
happy birthday you guys! your blog is amazing!
my favorite figure that i own is alter’s clalaclan (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/13698).
shes just so well sculpted and her colors are just fantastic. it may also have something to do with the fact i love tony taka too xP.
Grats on the Bday. My favorite figure has to be Momohime from Muramasa. It has that subtle great sculpt without looking flashy and really brings out the character from the game.
My favorite figure is Airi from queen’s blade, made by megahouse. Despite her coming out in 2007 her quality and pose still fits with my newer models. I love the simple, but elegent pose she has and that her scythe can be replaced with any stick object for her to hold.
My figure is the orchid seed leviathan (Envy). That was just released a couple months ago. I like the position of the figure even though it can be a little ecchi without the cloths on
I can’t win but my personal favorite that I own is the Bowen Hawkeye. because I really like hawkeye and I really liked bowen back in the days when he was putting out some amazing work before “museum pose” became a popular thing in US sculpting. *falls asleep thinking about museum poses* It actually took me 3 years to finally get the hawkeye but I finally did
Happy Birthday!
My favorite figure is GSC’s Senjougahara Hitagi. Mainly because she is my favorite character out of all the animes I have watched. I feel like GSC really outshone the competition with their Hitagi. I love the skirt holding pose with all the stationary fall out. 🙂
Happy Birthday guys! I always look forward to reading your posts and reviews!
My favorite figure is the Asuka 1/6 by Max Factory! I really love how much effort they put into her pose and the sculpting of it! I also love my Mediacos Super action hero JoJo figures..but they aren’t scaled.
Best wishes!
Happy second birthday! ^-^
My favourite figure would have to be…Kotobukiya’s 1/6 Nagisa Kaworu.
I absolutely love his base and his face is just perfect. I think Kotobukiya did an absolutely fantastic job with him ^-^ (Now make a Shinji already >.>)
Happy Birthday Plastikitty!
Cospa’s GEE! Limited Edition Normal Equipment Ver. is my most favorite and prized figure/possession XD Not only is the detail spectacular, but she seems magically dust proof. She fits snuggly in with my obsession with both Aigis and Persona!
I was so sad. I got her and the peg she holds in on for me was at the wrong angle. Luckily they sent me a new one but still it was very scary for a while thinking I wouldn’t be able to have her on display. That is a fantastic figure
Happy birthday!!
My favorite figure is Arcadia’s Elin from Tera (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/117318) She’s just perfect. Dynamic pose, beautiful eyes and hair, her gorgeous outfit, both the colors and the detailing is just amazing. I ordered her for myself as a birthday present in january, and the wait for her to come home was agonizing, but so worth it!
My favorite figure is Erika Sendou from Fortune Arterial by Kotobukiya, not for her face or for her pose, but for what she means to me and my wife. Erika was a Kotobukiya.jp exclusive and I fell in love with her completely, but I had no idea how to acquire her in the States. She came out in late summer 2008, just after my wife and I got married. We delayed our honeymoon until late March of the following year, when we went on a nine-day tour of Japan, our first time visiting the country.
With a black-and-white printout of her in my pocket and zero Japanese language skills, I searched every figure store I could identify in Akihabara for her with no success. I figured if she wasn’t there, not at the Kotobukiya store, not any other retailers, not at any of the secondhand stores, it was hopeless.
Our tour left Tokyo and ended up in Kyoto, but with a spare day at our disposal, we took a side trip to Osaka to see the sumo basho, visit the whale sharks at the aquarium, eat our way down the Dotonbori, and, lo and behold, we ended our day in Den Den Town. There, at the Osaka Melonbooks location, in a glass case, I found Erika waiting for me with the pencil board and bath poster she came with, perfect little PVC Erika, and she came home with us to her present seat of honor amongst my collection.
For me, it’s not just that she’s a cute-as-anything character and as rare a figure as can be, but the fact that my awesome awesome wife let me drag her through all of Akiba and Den Den on the search for her, and she was so adventurous and willing to be along for the ride through the depths of dorkdom, on our honeymoon no less. Erika is not for sale from me at any price.
…I don’t have to mention that I found another one of her at Nakano Broadway on the last day of our trip, for a good 6,000 yen less, but I got MY Erika, dammit!
Happy Birthday Plastikitty!
My current favorite figure is Velvet from Odin Sphere by Yamato. Just so utterly beautiful and alluring. She stands as one of the best figures in my collection.
Happy Birthday!
Let’s see, favorite figure. Choosing a single one is extremely difficult. There are so many great features about so many of them – Asmodeus’s awesome zigzag designs and voluptuous figure, any of the various Selvarias and their gold trim and line detail, Risty and her rare darker skin and muscular build, or practically any of Yamashita Shunya’s Bishoujo’s or other cute but sexy original creations, or the absolutely stunning Aegis by alter based on Soejima Shigenori’s artwork.
But just one favorite – if that’s all I can choose would be San riding Moro from Princess Mononoke: (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/389). This was my first figure purchase and it was on my first trip to Japan. It was being sold in the gift shop at the Studio Ghibli museum, and I adored it but was extremely hesitant to part with *$80* for a piece of plastic! I thought, and walked around the museum some more and had this internal conversation with myself “If you leave Japan without this, you will regret it forever”. Little did I know it would end up starting me down a very expensive road. She may not be the most detailed sculpt, but she holds the most sentimental value for me. So for that reason, I’ll choose San as my favorite.
Holy smokes, that is a phenomenal figure. I’ve never seen that before. You did the right thing!
Happy Birthday Plastikitty!
My main re-source for figures aside from MFC!
I’d have to say my favorite figure of my collection right now is my Blue edition of Boa Hancock from Megahouse! The blue matches her eyes so well compared to the original outfit version which is surprising, I just love the detail her hair is gorgeous and her lovely winking face is just too cute! It’s the perfect extra face for this lovely lady!
Happy birthday!
My favorite figure I have (such a small collection) would be my MegaHouse PoP sail again zoro. Love the quality of it and the posing, it was one that the moment i saw pics before release i had to have it.
YO HAPPY BIRTHDAY PLASTIKITTY!!!!!!!!!
My favorite figure that I own right now has to be Figma Love Machine.
He’s just one of my favorite designed characters in anything, and to hear that there is a posable figure of him? Ahhhhh it’s just too good.
Look how beautiful this guy is.
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7011/6634521841_a1c0e97dc8_o.jpg
My favorite figure is Asuna 1/8 by Kotobukiya (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/126835)! She’s just so beautiful, especially her base! Overall I feel like she does the character justice, that and she’s just about the prettiest figure of my favorite character.
AWWWW YEAHHHHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU GUYS. 8D
My favourite fig that I own is Alisa Bosconovitch, the Mishima Zaibatsu version made by Kotobukiya. (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/87762) The colors remind me of Rainbow Sherbet, which happens to be my favourite ice cream, and I love how her face is sculpted, along with the flowing motion of her shirt jacket type thing is doing.
Congrats! My favorite figure is probably my original Black Rock Shooter figma. It was the first figure I ever bought, so it will always hold a special place for me. Her accessories are fantastic, and I think she has really good pose-ability too. Plus that original character design is just awesome.
My kotobukiya cat woman bishoujo. It’s gorgeous and comes with little kitties. Found her at a local comic con and didn’t have to pay too much.
thumbs up! I love this figure, too, she strikes just the right balance of sexy and cute & I love the base & extras! And catwoman. <3 She's certainly on my Top 3 list. =^.^=
Aw well a very Happy Birthday to you Plastikitty ^.^
My personal favorite would have to be the Kotobukiya Venom figure. (http://bit.ly/11kO3GQ) When I 1st saw this thing I was floored by the incredible detail. Venom is my favorite Marvel character of all time! Having said that, I can’t tell you how many Venom figures I’ve seen that make me cringe due to either their lack of quality, or random distortions of Venom’s face. But I swear, upon seeing the Kotobukiya Venom figure my heart nearly burst out of my chest it’s so gorgeous. <3
Happy Birthday Plastikitty~ =3 It’s been fun watching your blog.
As far as a favorite figure goes, as others have mentioned, it’s very difficult to decide. I definitely have many figures I love (mainly tsunderes to be honest), but one PVC sticks out because of a number of reasons, and that’s Good Smile Company’s Holo (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/5468). Let’s take a look at a list of positives~
-Interchangeable parts
-Magnificent portrayal of movement
-Animal ears and tail on a cute girl ^ouo^
-A highly-valued figure
-In my opinion, a very accurate representation of Holo
Lastly, it has a lot of sentimental value, and a bit of a story. I found this figure at KumoriCon last year, at a stand where a man was selling off his collection. In the beginning, I was actually looking for figures of Louise from Zero no Tsukaima, but upon noticing Holo, I asked for the price. He answered, “Just $120!” What. For a mere $120, even though on ebay she’s going for $350+, I could be united with this figure that many have shelled out twice, or even thrice the amount of cash for… But at the time, I didn’t have much money, so alas it was for naught…but all of a sudden, my super-amazing boyfriend showed up behind me and placed the godly box into my arms. He bought it for me out of love. ;u; uguuuu. We shall never part, Holo. Never. <3
Congrats on your second year! Happy birthday, and keep up the good work!
My favourite figure is Alter’s Gwendolyn (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/3671), because her wings cannot be denied. She has everything I love in a good figure. A dynamic pose, a gorgeous base, a beautiful face, and stunning detail. She blew me out of the water upon release, and still remains one of the most striking figures in my collection. Odin Sphere also happens to be one of my favourite games on the PS2. Even after all these years, my love for her burns with the passion of a thousand suns.
Happy 2nd Birthaversary! XD
One of my favourites (It’s too hard to choose just one!) would be Kotobukiya’s Elwing (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/804) besides being a pretty elf, the main reason being is that she was my first ever scale that I bought which got me fully into the figure collecting scene, so she’s pretty special to me.
Elwing was one of my first figures! And she still has such a special place in my collection, Elwing started my Tony Taka obsession~
Happy Birthday, Plastikitty! Keep up the great work!
My favorite figure would have to be either Unlimited Blade Works Rin or Miku DX, though I own neither of them. If I had to pick one that I own, I’d go with Alter Sasami.
Happy Birthday, Plastikitty. I’ve been a longtime lurker around here but never really had time to comment.
My favorite figure as to be Racing Miku 2011 (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/98976). Even though it’s not the most well recieved Miku figure, I can’t help but love the more mature take on Miku’s usually youthful and moe character. The figure’s posture, the alluring costume, and the calm expression on her face makes her one of my favorite figures.
Looking foward to your coverage on WonFes 😀 Cheers
Happy Birthday! Plastickitty has been a great resource for me. I’ve only been getting into collecting figures recently…fallen off the slope or so they say. It’s been a great way for me to track new releases and figure out what to buy.
My favorite figure is GSC’s Tenshi. I know you weren’t a big fan of it because of the ugly base…but I absolutely love Tenshi and the figure is just fantastically beautiful!
GSC Tenshi was also my first figure and in fact the figure that got me into collecting figures. I was so happy with her that I would just stare at her every single day…and I still do. I was never really into collecting figures because they seemed so expensive, but once I saw her, I knew I had to have her. I’ve since improved the base a little bit at least…I got the base signed by P.A. Works director Nobuhiro Kikuchi, who helped produce and direct Angel Beats! Here’s a photo!

Enjoy your second birthday, Plastikitty! <3
Cham Cham is the winner to me (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/39540). Why? Because she has cat ears and tail, sharp claws, a sweet and moe face, a cute pose and she can scratch your face in a battle; Even though has a terrible base, the figure is stunning. And she is bigger than a regular 1/8 figure! :3
What do you think, Cham?

I want this figure so badly! Im just not willing to shell out over $100 for her, but it looks like a great figure! And Cham Cham is <3!
O-tanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu !!!!
Happy 2nd birthday Plastikitty! My favorite figure would have to be Kotobukiya’s Sakagami Tomoyo (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/27).
I adore her the most out of all the characters I love, and her outfit in Tomoyo After fills me with nostalgia. So, this figure is my favorite of all the iterations I have seen, despite having larger, better-crafted, or more detailed figures of other characters that I love.
Hey Gurrlllll! Happy birthday! ;D
My favorite figure? Well mine is one I don’t even have yet, but right now, my favorite figure is the Hatsune Miku 1/8 love is war DX Edition. I just love it so much and I’m hunting her down as we speak. Haha.
Happy Birthday! Thanks so much for all the great figure coverage for a whole 2 years now (can’t believe ye’ve been going that long – time flies!) ^_^
My very favourite figure is definitely Nendoroid Hakase. I own some absolutely stunning scaled figures as well as exclusive Nendos/figmas and the like but I just can’t tear myself away from Hakase. She’s one of my very favourite characters and is also everything I look for in a Nendoroid – perfect rendition of the character, great accessories and endless adorableness! She’s the only figure I’ve ever been sorely tempted to buy more than one of so yea, think she’s my definite fav 😀
Happy birthday guys! It’s amazing that it has been two years already.
As for favorite figures mine would easily be the one that started it all, Alter’s lovely Momohime. I loved the game, and ordering her was somewhere between a whim and morbid curiosity for me. When I got her after what is now 3 years ago next month, I was absolutely in love. I had tons of fun taking lots of crappy pics of he on my crappy phone and I was absolutely sold on her and figures in general To this day I still adore her and if I ever had to part with everything else she is the only figure I would absolutely never let go of.
Heck, part of the reason I bought Alter’s Senhime was because I though Momohime would look good holding her weapon, And of course that turned into it’s own thing with me picking up the majority of Alter’s Samurai Girls releases.
This is one of the first pics I took of her way back in simpler times when my room wasn’t a forest of PVC. http://imageshack.us/a/img401/3987/59941531.jpg
Happy Birthday Guys!
My favorite figure is the Saber Alter Maid Ver. (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/13764)
because the the details on her dress are really nice! The frills on the hem are straight up amazing and the stockings, for some reason are really captivating.
I knew about this figure through the original Saber Maid, but never actually got to find the Alter version since it was pretty rare.
happy birthday!! i’ll be eating cake in your honor!!
as for my favorite figure, it’s definitely alter’s dizzy. she was my first, and dizzy has been my favorite female character for the last decade. it really was the figure that got me into this ridiculous hobby! there’s not a day i don’t look at her and swoon: she’s sculpted so perfectly (as yagyuu figures tend to be), and the painting is marvelous, and the pose, and her wings… i could go on forever. she’s one of the few figures that i am just constantly amazed by and proud to have in my collection.
My favorite figure would be belldandy & holy bell. I’ve been drooling at the GK for many many years and soon it will become available for everyone to own.
Here’s to many more years of your blog.
It was a hard decision but my favourite figure is Kotobukiya’s Asuka (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/35461). She was the second figure I added to collection and is very special to me as it was a gift from my dad 🙂 he purchased it for me at Midtown Comics right before my 16th birthday. It’s very special to me because he was really trying to show interest in some of my hobbies which meant a lot. Not to mention it’s a looovely figure to boot ^^
Funny you mention Midtown considering I was (am?) the figure guy there hahaha
I only discovered Plastikiity in the last few months, but I hope you all keep up the good work, great job on the site!
Picking a favorite figure is like picking a favorite child (or cat in my case lol). Anyways, I think I’ll go with the Tony Taka catgirl maids – which is kinda like picking *two* figures, since its a rare double figure! I have the original black/white color version. The details are fantastic and my friend went out of her way to hunt down these gals for me on one of her trips to Japan.. my friend is not at all a bishoujo lover or even a figure collector, & everyone knows how much room in-box figures take up in luggage, so this great figure always reminds me of my awesome friend & her efforts on my behalf!
Happy second and many more to come!
Like so many others it is hard to pick just one favorite out of my collection, but I think I’ve managed to do it. Alter’s Selvaria Bles.(http://myfigurecollection.net/item/13815)
I love the simple black color scheme with the gold highlights along with the bit of red. The pose is commanding and similar to Shepard so I like to pair them up. The lance and shield along with the half cape give her some variation as well which is something I like to have in figures. Add to all that she is my favorite character from one of my favorite games she gets the edge needed to come out on top.
What is currently, and will always remain to be, my favourite figure is the first one I ever owned. Always having been afraid to express my love of anime openly, a few years ago I decided to finally take the plunge and start watching classic animes. One of the first shows I ever fell in love with was Code Geass, and beyond a doubt my favourite character was C.C. When I discovered the one and only anime merch store in the city where I live, I went to check it out. I had previously looked online on mfc of CC figures, but was way out of my league at the time for how to order a figure, which figures were best, essentially anything to do with the figure world. As might have been expected, all the figures at the merch store were extremely overpriced, and I didn’t see any CC figures. Not a few weeks later, my boyfriend at the time surprised me with a CC figure – the one of her in a purple kimono and kneeling with a fan. I was so happy :’3 Apparently I missed it in a far off corner of the merch store, and he treked all the way back there, cautiously carrying it on the subway and train home so as not to break it. I’ve bought many more figures since then, figures probably more objectively nice than this one, but it will always remain my favourite, and one of the best presents I’ve ever received 🙂
Happy birthday Plastikitty! Time sure passes quick, but I want you guys to know that it’s been a really fun 2 years! Thanks for all you do!
From my figure collection, I’d have to say that my favorite is my Nendoroid Menma by GSC! She’s not necessarily the most exciting or amazing figure, but the series really stuck with my and she brings back a lot of memories when I look at her. She’s very dear to me, even if she isn’t the most impressive figure I own!
happy birth PK
choosing my favorite figure is difficult to choose i am stuck between alter menma and gsc triumphant saber if i had to choose to keep only one I would probably choose saber
My favorite figure would be Nendoroid Imca! She’s the reason I changed my opinion on nendoroids. I used to think that Nendoroids aren’t suited for action characters, since they don’t look as powerful as figures in bigger scale. But Imca comes with detailed parts, like her armor and Val which make her looks powerful while keeping Nendoroid cute features!
I can’t win either but my favorite figures are my Asuna Kotobukiya statue and my Asuna Nendoroid! Maybe I’m a little biased, but wouldn’t you be, too, if you were surrounded by representations of your favorite characters all the time? uvu
Omedetou!! My favorite figure is definitely the scaled 1/8 Ultimate Madoka by GSC. She is just so adorable and perfect.
Hello guys, I just recently found this website (and immediately bookmarked it). Happy Birthday!
My favorite figure is, without a doubt, Touhou Project’s Yuyuko Saigyouji ver. 2 by Griffon (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/98935). I have to admit I have a thing for Lady Yuyuko, she’s so elegant, so refined, and so cheerful despite her tragic backstory. That’s why I fell in love for this figure as soon as I saw her on preorder one year ago. Be it her dynamic yet elegant pose, or her gentle and beautiful smile, or just the fact she’s Yuyu-sama, I simply adore her.
Happy cake day. Without a doubt my favorite figure is Dizzy from Alter. Loved her in the game and the best figure of her I think.
My favorite figure is Alters 1/6 Saber Alter maid. The detail is amazing, it’s a perfect pose and it comes with the cutest little chibi saber. And Saber is the love of my life so all these reasons make her my favorite figure.
Happy Birthday PK.
My favorite figure would be Black Rock Shooter, Animation Version. It’s the first figurine I bought and which dragged me in the whole PVC business. They replicated YUKE’s artwork pretty good, you can feel the dynamism and the strong energy by looking at her pose.
Happy Birthday!
My favorite figure is Yui Takamura Gekka version, by Kotobukiya. The main reasons are its gentle traits that all together give out a feeling of composure and sensuality. It’s really a beautiful piece in my opinion.
My favourite figure is “Creators’ Labo #024 “TSUKASA BULLET” COMPACT HOG” because she is gorgeously sculpted, very detailed, great paint, volumtuious body and her face is beautiful!
oha plastikitty also had birthday, grz. I hope there will we a lot more of these to come.
My favourite figure is Kotobukiya’s Kuroneko Memories ver. (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/61728)
I had the image after which the figure was modelled for a long time as rainmeter skin. I really love that somehow shy pose and the very elegant outfit with the cat ears being the icing on the cake. So of course, I was quiet happy when I got her in figure form and since then she occupies a special place next to my monitor where I can adore her everyday. 😀
Happy Birthday! It’s been a great 2 years so far and hope for many more to come!
Right now my favorite figure right now would have to be Alter’s Dizzy. She’s been one of my favorite character designs and Alter made her absolutely stunning! I’m glad she’s getting a second release so everyone that missed a gem the first time get another shot at her if they want. She’s well worth it!
Thanks for such a great site!
My favourite figure is probably my bishoujo Commander Shepard. Its a sexy, yet tasteful take on one of my favourite characters from one of my favourite series. A win all around.
My favorite figure… is such a hard question, because there’s figures I love for different reasons– like how well-made they are, or how they always make me smile when I see them. Maybe they’re my favorite character from a series or maybe they were a gift from a friend. It’s so hard to choose just one to represent the idea of “favorite” for me it would have to be… Bossy Bear! He’s just one of the figures that I will never, ever, ever get rid of. He makes me smile, he makes me laugh, and he’s just… too funny. I recently got the Bossy Bear Kaiju to go with him, but… nothing is better than the original.
(Runners up are Max Factory’s Catherine, Kotobukiya’s Field of Battle Master Chief and Alter’s Luke, but Bossy Bear wins all of the awards.)
Even though the figure being given away doesn’t necessarily wet my whistle, I’ll weigh in on the topic anyway. I’ve enjoyed browsing this site for a while now, and even though I don’t comment regularly or buy figures regularly (don’t really have the disposable income to make large purchases such as these), I do like to keep up on the news in the event that something gets announced that really sparks my interest. So, I honestly do want to wish you guys a happy 2nd birthday and thank you for taking time to put all of these articles and posts up for us.
I only own three actual, scaled figures, though I do have a handful of trading figures and a couple of gashapon figures, so I’m going to “cheat” a little. Of the figures that I own, none of the scaled figures (Kotobukiya’s Dark Magician Girl, SEGA Prize Figure of Ratchet Altair from Sakura Wars: The Movie, and Max Factory’s Gemini Sunrise) really jumps out at me as being my absolute favorite figure. I enjoy them, yes, but I can’t hold one up and place it at the top of a shrine.
With that in mind, I’ve got to give my pick of the favorite figure that I own to the Fire Emblem Exceed a Generation Ayra Trading Figure, since it was the secret figure of the blind box set AND I was able to find a stack of blind boxes at the first ever con that I went to. I was fully prepared to buy up the gentleman who was running the booth’s entire stock, but he was extremely nice and offered to open the boxes to see if the figures that I was after were there. Needless to say, I bought either 2 or 3 of the figures and paid slightly above what he was asking for the blind boxes since he was so accommodating.
However, if I had the money to buy some more expensive figures, I think my favorite would end up being either Kotobukiya’s White Phoenix (shame it was an exclusive though ;_;) since I like the character and the color scheme or Orchid Seed’s Blanc Neige because of the figure’s lovely design and highly detailed, interesting base.
Or… if I ever had the painting and construction skills (or could afford to hire someone who did), I know that my absolute favorite figure would be Volks’ Millenia Resin Garage Kit. One of my top favorite characters, ever. It’s a shame that this was the only “figure” that was ever made of her.
Tough decisions all around for me, sadly. :/
Oh wow! Plastikitty’s birthday happens to fall on the same date as my birthday! Haha
Well my favorite figure is probably Max Factory’s Aoba even though I got him a couple of days ago… on my birthday. No figure I own (or have seen) has a pose quite as unique or dynamic as his. The accessories attached to his base are interesting and varied. Plus he came with a dog keychain so that just makes it surpass every figure.
My favorite figure is GSC 1/8 Ultimate Madoka – seems too safe or predictable a favorite, but the attention paid to creating a full 360 degree viewing experience is wonderful, she looks great at all angles and is full of dynamic motion. The detail is top notch and the floating hair is phenomenal.
Thank you for hosting the generous draw 🙂
My favorite figure is Birdcage Girl by Questioners. (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10190188) I really love her unique design and her expression is so realistic. She is very different from other anime figures. The thing I love the most about her is that she reminds me of myself. Every time I look at her, I start thinking about some aspects of my life. Does anyone else get the same feeling?
It’s not so hard to tell which figure is my favourite, of course Madokami (http://www.goodsmile.info/product/en/3574/Ultimate+Madoka.html) will be the one. This is the first figure I purchase, and so far I am very satisfied with the figure. Thanks for all the hard work with this site.
Happy birthday!
Hm… My favorite figure would be my Fate/Zero’s Rider from Megahouse. It really gives off a strong and powerful image, just like the character does in the show.
I would have to say my favorite figure is EyeUp’s 1/8 scale Kamina from Gurren Lagann. He was the first scaled figure I bought before I even got into figure collecting. I had gotten him because he was my favorite character from the show and I wanted a figure to represent him on my shelf. Especially in a world of dominant of female figures, he was one of my first scaled figures.
Just for giggles, my favorite non-scale figure is this . He is the only figure from one of my favorite shows, so I snatched up the whole set just so I could have this guy.
Holy crap, you guys are already on your second year? Man, time really flies! Haven’t been following you guys as closely as I’d like, but from what I’ve seen you’ve definitely been managing some solid coverage.
As for my favorite figure, it’s near impossible to choose. A few years ago, one would really have stood above all the others (and if I could only own one figure, it’d still be that one) but for now I’m tempted to say that it’s Transformers Generations Thundercracker, although most of that just comes down to the beautiful Classics Seeker mold. I like that version even more than I do its MP counterpart.
Oh, right, I suppose I also owe you a “why”. Well, for starters, he has one of my favorite transformation sequences; it’s simple and very quick, which appealed to me when I was worse at doing them back when I first started to care about Transformers again. I’ll often just leave one of the figures in that mold around in different places so I can mess with it. It also has one of the nicest jet modes in the line, which looks even better with Thundercracker’s deco. He’s also one of those delightfully shiny with those silver chrome bits. It’s the sort of figure I really wish I had owned as a child but figure technology hadn’t evolved to that point yet. As such, I really envy the most recent generation.
Happy birthday! 😀
My personal favorite figure is my Max Factory Test Suit Asuka. My boyfriend made a huge effort in getting me one for my birthday so the sentimental value is priceless to me. She’s also a beautiful figure, arguably the most beautiful one I own. I might be biased. ;p
Grats on your second year!! 😀
My favorite is my Play Arts FF7: AC Sephiroth figure. I wasn’t even expecting to get this one, but my now-husband sneakily pre-ordered and bought him for me. He’s gone to every one of my cubicles with me, and is currently fabulously posed with a Clow staff.
Hmm.. I don’t have a favorite figure yet, ’cause I’ve only got into the figures collecting scene a couple months ago, and I currently only own a Haqua (TWGOK) nendoroid and an Alisa (God Eater) D-Arts figure. However, the one figure that initially got me hooked was the upcoming Max Factory’s Momo that was modeled after the cover of the To Love-Ru Venus Artbook. The moment I saw that, I knew I had to order it, even though I had never ever consider buying any figure before that moment. She’s just so beautiful and cute. The lingerie might make her look sexual to others, but to me, she really looks innocent and pure.
Coincidentally, it was the same story for the artbook that I bought last year. I saw it, and just had to order the first-print edition, even though I’ve never had any interests in artbooks before. And though I’ve bought other artbooks after that first purchase, the Venus artbook remains my most precious treasure. I guess, if everything goes down just like last year, I should just go ahead and call Momo my favorite figure right now, even though I don’t own her yet.
Happy B-Day Plastikitty! Here’s to more years of figure news and reviews.
Hmm.. my favorite figure would have to be Good Smile’s Black Rock Shooter: Black Blade version. This is the first Black Rock Shooter figure I got and got me into BRS too. After that figure I got a bunch of other BRS figures such as: WRS figma, BRS: The Game figma, BRS Beast figma, Insane BRS figma, TV Animation BRS figma, BRS Real Action Hero, and the BRS TV Animation nendo.
I couldn’t just leave it at one figure. Another figure that I really love is Gift’s Saber Extra. The sculpt is so amazing; her face is so beautiful. I really want to buy more Gift figures.
Happy Birthday guys! Always loved reading your reviews and news. My favorite would be my first figure – Kotobukiya’s Mohoro on Bike.
Happy 2nd birthday! Without a doubt, my favorite figure is Alter’s Kouno Harumi. To Heart 2 was the first VN I ever played nearly 10 years ago, and I’ve been hooked on them since! So I was thrilled when Alter released a figure of my favorite character, complete tons of frills, belly button, and shimapan. The sculpt is dynamic, and captures her essence perfectly. The painting, and QC job is flawless, as one would expect from Alter.
I’ll admit, choosing my favorite was tough as I love every single figure in my collection.
Happy birthday, guys! I always enjoy reading your articles, although I think I end up wanting too many things because of your reviews in particular, lol.
My personal favorite figure is GSC’s 1/8 Shinobu Oshino. It was a complete impulse purchase, and one of my first when I started seriously collecting. I remember the feeling as I dug her box out of the infamous huge paper nest AmiAmi includes with every order~
Her expressive base and versatility for photos also makes me really happy I got her!
(Can I cheat and throw in a nod to Alter’s 1/8 Menma too? I adore her, even if she is a little smaller than most 1/8 girls.)
Happy B day !!! Thanks for all the information and cool stuff here.
My personal favorite figure is the Ribbon Komugi from Takahiro Kohata, i really like all of his job but all of his komugi´s are really really really cute.
Happy birthday! Onwards to the next!
My favourite figure used to be Ika Musume (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/61510), but sadly she didn’t survive my move unscathed as her base is in pieces now. So, going for figures that are still in one piece, I’d have to say the Kafuka and Chiri set from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (http://myfigurecollection.net/picture/31934&ref=item%3A14236). Simple as they may be, I just love them together and they were a grail of mine before I finally found them. It helps that the series holds a special place in my heart as well.
Incidentally, I already have said Cryska (and I’m quite happy with it), so I’d prefer not to be in the running for the figure.
Happy BirthDay PlastiKitty!
My favorite figure is definitely Kotobukiya’s 1/6 Goddess of Wind Xecty!
I just love the way it looks! Really elegant, calm, artistic & beautiful.
I like that it may be quite revealing but that is not the drawing pont to the figure. It is done with great taste and kind of reminds me of old Greek paintings.
お誕生日おめでとうございます! (Happeee birthday!)
My favorite figure would be Good Smile Company’s Saber Lily. Saber is one of my all time favorite character and GSC’s Saber lily brought out the feminine side of saber really well
Asking me what my favorite figurine is HARD. But I think it might have to be Good Smile Company 1/8 Kagamine Rin (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/5654). I love Rin so much and my husband bought this for me as a birthday present, so she holds an even more special place in my heart.
Congrats on the birthday! Your blog is great and always look it up before purchasing any figure for reviews. My favorite figure so far is Asuka Langley Shikinami from Yamato, as this is the design of Shunya Yamashita and Yoshizawa Mitsumasa. Her pose is gorgeous, her face, her new design of plug suit, such a mature and intense figure of Asuka!
And my bad, it’s Soryu Asuka Langley!!!! I just hate how they changed her name to keep the “nami” on all 3 Evangelion girls (Ayanami, Makinami, Shikinami)
My favorite will always be Alter’s KOS-MOS v4, but their Selvaria is a close second.
My favorite has to be Angelic Island’s Yayoi Takatsuki! It really captures her personality SO well! The bright eyes, wide happy mouth and her energetic pose! They also got her hair color perfect (not too brown and not too orange). The details of her swimsuit and flip flops are amazing and the paint job is perfect (they definitely know how to paint within the lines)!
Yayoi is my favorite character of all time, but it’s not simply her that makes the figure great. I LOVE the details put into the accessories. The water ring looks just like a real water ring, and in the base you can place the tiny, detailed seashells!
I definitely give that figure a 10 out of 10.
My favorite figure is probably Saber Lily from GSC. I know she’s super popular but she was one of my first scaled figures and still looks impressive today. So I will never have the heart to sell her even if I had to get rid of the rest of my collection ;w;
This is really hard and it’s a coin toss between bishoujo wonder woman and bishoujo huntress… And I give it to wonder woman just because I love the classic outfit and the kick ass pose. Huntress comes close but I don’t think WW has been bettered in the bishoujo line.
Live the site btw keep up the good work 😉
I don’t buy figurines but if I were to get one it would be those beautiful Lineage II elf ones!
Happy Birthday !
Favorites figures, mmh, its hard. But i choose Sound Pretty by Yamato, her curves are beautiful and all details are perfect. But i love all of my figures <3

Concratz for ur site, its very cool ! AND RAW RAW CRYSKA !
I would have to say my absolute favorite figure is 1:6 Misato Katsuragi by Kotobukiya. I have many reasons for liking her other than her being my favorite character. They paid such nice attention to detail, her cross necklace being on a string, proper trigger discipline, and just how they brought out Misato’s character in general. I find her base of crumbled wall to be a nice touch as well. 🙂
naming my favorite figure is a tough choice, but i think i’m going to say that it’s max factory’s mari makinami! she’s the first figure i really fell in love with and was willing to shell out an absurd amount of money. she also inspired me to start collecting figures of mari, of which i have four and one on the way! her paint and her detailing is amazing. the facial expression is perfect, she’s got mari’s mischievous little cat mouth and there’s something so sweet and charming about the figure itself, wow. this is probably the most fun entry to a contest ever, so thank you!
happy birthday plastikitty! here’s to many more!
Happy Birthday Plastikitty !
mmmh, it’s very hard to choose only one figure…. Because, I’m a very big fan of the Oreimo License… But i choose Gokou Ruri Kamineko ver. by Max Factory ! She is very beautiful and she is taken from one of my favorite moments of the Light Novel

My favourite figure is probably…
Black Rock Shooter PVC (Original) It’s a figure representation of my favourite Black Rock Shooter illustration from HUKE, it’s also the first figure I bought for myself and set me off on collecting on such a massive scale, it also started my Black Rock Shooter obsession XP
Happy belated Birthday too I guess!
Would have to be the Super Robot Chogokin Gurren Lagann figure because of the great build quality compared to the Revoltech that I previously owned and well…It’s Gurren Lagann so that alone makes it awesome.
Merry birthday of a happy nature!
my favorite figure that i own would be the cheerful japan tachikoma nendoroid mostly because it comes with a bunch of neat accessories which make it look great in the center of my shelf.
happy b-day!!! I love this website!
My favorite is spilt between, my Revy from black lagoon made by Alter because Revy is awesome and a total badass. my bounty hunter Yoko from Gurren Lagan also from Alter is my secound I couldnt decide!
Happy birthday to you!
Thanks for the great reviews and quality pictures. I have yet to find another website like yours, so keep up the good work.
My favorite figure is Nico Robin Z edition. I’ve had her on my coffee table ever since I got her. It’s the kind of figure that makes me smile when I see it. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of looking at it
Happy birthday. 🙂
I think I’d have to go with possibly Momohime right now. Or AlphaXOmega’s Villetta Nu.
Happy birthday plastikitty! Thanks for being my useful source of figures info 🙂
My top favorite figures are GSC Ultimate Madoka, Alter Mila Maxwell, and Alter Luke fone Fabre. Ultimate Madoka because it’s the most amazing figure I’ve seen so far. It definitely looks superior among my collection. And I like the other 2 because they’re from Tales of series. It’s my favorite game, and they’re my favorite characters. And their figures look awesome!
My collection is still pretty small, but right now my favorite one I own is my Ultimate Madoka figma. Obviously not as impressive as the scale version, but compared to other figmas she is just absolutely stunning. I love posing her and just seeing her cute little smiling face aside me on my desk!
It is really hard. I like all my figures but I think one I like a little bit more than the others. I have a bias for uniforms and even though FemSheps and Meryl Silverburghs and even Jaina Solos are great, Nida is the one and only real officer.

huraki Trinity Box 04 NEEDA 1/8 PVC Figure Box Set
She’s from Shunya Yamashita and came with a lot of content. There was a CD mit 70 minutes of.. some story I can’t understand because I can’t japanese, a little “book” and the possibility to have her in underwear or destroyed cloth. I chose to have her with her normal uniform, think that suits her best. I didn’t managed to put her together right (maybe I should use hot water like I needed with Jaina) but I did my best and she looks wonderful. I wouldn’t mind a longer skirt or pants or a real top instead of a bare middriff but I don’t mind her sexy. She is the one behind my female PVC army, planning and supporting them with her monstrous rifle.
Happy birthday!
My favourite figure must be Cirno Nendoroid by GSC, because she just looks adorable and she is my favourite Touhou character.
