Remember Kotobukiya’s massive 1/4 scale swimsuit Tamaki? Well, like their 1/6 scale sculpt which got 4 separate versions, this one is back for more! In fact, it’s following the same pattern as their first large Tama-nee: first a more innocent version, and then a black-outfited Provocative colorway. Like the Temptation Tamaki before her, this version is a lot less SFW than the first one based on facial expression alone. Honestly, not a lot has really changed: her swimsuit is black now (looking more like underwear) and she’s holding a body pillow instead of a giant ice pop. Actually, I think they might have changed her swimsuit TO underwear: it’s got some frills that weren’t on the first sculpt. But she’s been given a seductive expression that certainly makes her tongue seem more lascivious.
Sadly this version is an exclusive, though she is at the Koto online store so I assume she’ll come to the US as well! She’ll retail for ¥12,800 with a February release. I wonder if we’ll be getting Christmas and Panic colorways as well? I could see this sculpt coming back at least more given the popularity of the character.
I dunno…the tongue doesn’t make a whole lot of sense without the Popsicle. They’ve changed her eyes to be more seductive, but on the whole this feels like a very strange rerelease. Who holds a pillow like that?!
