Good Smile Company has been working on their Touhou Project Nendoroid line for many years now, though it’s only seen 10 releases. Usually this is because they put extra care into the accessories, though I’m not entirely sure if the same can be said of Alice Margatroid. They’ve certainly had a while to work on her: Alice’s announcement was at Winter Wonfest, she was sculpted this summer, and quite recently got a paint job.
However, I think it’s safe to say that her faces at least leave something to be desired. There are only two: smiling and open-mouth smiling. Really, no angry or scary face for Alice?! Her other accessories are the grimorie and 3 puppets, one of which fits in a cellphone jack. I uh, I guess that’s kind of useful? The best part of this shoot for me is the guest appearance by a Cat Donut! Alice will go up for order tonight and is an exclusive, but unlike other Touhou Nendos she WILL be available in the GSC online shop internationally for ¥3,500 with a January release. And as a bonus, Yuyuko will be re-released along with her! Fujiwara no Mokou is the next in the line, and let’s hope she comes out a little bit better.

It’s a small and boring selection of faces but eh, I’ve got plenty of other nendo faceplates to use on her. The dolls are wielding weapons but Alice has no serious/aggressive/determined face or pose? But it’s Alice, it was always gonna be an easy sell for me.
Yuyuko rerelease is much more exciting!
