One of my favorite sculpts from this year has been Embrace Japan’s unique Diabolus Ungulate. While Embrace’s quality is far from perfect, they present figures unlike what any other company is currently doing. Diabolus here is not your normal pretty demon girl: she’s got scaly wings and cloven feet, along with an impassive and disinterested face. Oh and she’s also castoff, though Embrace hasn’t yet shown off that function on this colorway.
The original was dark and brooding, but here Diabolus is given a lighter color palette. The soft white and lavender really work for me, and I think I prefer this version. However, she won’t be easy to get: not only is she a Wonder Festival exclusive, but she’s limited to a mere 50 pieces! Her retail will be the same as the first version, ¥10,000. Good luck if you are hunting down this beauty: it’s going to be difficult for sure to get your hands on her!
