There’s a lot of Evangelion merchandise out there, so it takes something relatively unique to catch collectors’ eyes. Perhaps a particularly nicely sculpted PVC figure or, you know, chibi versions of the 3 main girls in swimsuits based on their plugsuits! This set of figures from Bandai has Asuka, Rei, & Mari relaxing on the beach, looking uncharacteristically friendly as they whack around a beach ball that appears to actually be an angel. Also, the sandcastle is NERV–how cute!
A box of 9 figures runs at ¥4,630 on AmiAmi and is set for a June release. That may seem a bit steep, but since there are only 3 figures in total you could split a case between 3 people and it would end up being quite cheap! The ratios on these cases are usually quite even so the chances of getting 3 of each is actually quite high. I have a few of the previous sets and the quality is quite nice for their size. Plus, who can resist Mari’s cute little fang!
