One of Gift’s Wonder Festival announcements was that they’d be picking up Toda Satoshi’s totally lovely Homura. They’ve worked on many of Satoshi’s sculpts before, but always figures of the Fate/Stay Night gang, so I was surprised to see them pick up this figure! Then again, given Madoka Magica‘s popularity it’s unsurprising that they went for this kit.
Some small changes have been made from the original: her face is just a bit different and her color palette has been shifted more towards purple. While Satoshi’s sculpts seem to be controversial, I absolutely adore his style and think this is miles ahead of the Good Smile sculpt… but not quite as nice as Grizzry Panda’s Homura. Ah, if only a company would pick that one up. Gift’s Homura should be going up for order in September (aka very soon) and will be released in spring. I wonder if they will make Satoshi’s Mami as well?

Aah, I really want this Homura! The changes were nice at least; in the garage kit photos, her outfit looked more dark blue.
I wasn’t aware that he sculpted Mami, so I looked and I surprisingly didn’t like the face. However, I also found out he did an amazing Misaki Mei for Griffon! It looks so good and I’ve never seen it before now! What do you think about it, Leah?
The Misaka Mei was at WonFest, and I think that her sculpt looks AMAZING. For a while, I was seriously wondering if it was Griffon! I seem to have more faith in them as a company than most people, so my hopes are high. I’m hoping they do the sculpt justice with the paint job! The coffin also adds a really cool aspect, even if the paint isn’t fantastic she will really stand out on a shelf.
