One of my favorite things shown off at Wonder Festival was Good Smile Company’s 1/8 version of their 2011 Racing Miku. She popped up in March’s magazine scans, which was a pretty clear sign that she’d be going up for order soon, and now Mikatan has a preview of her ready! This is one of the best Miku designs in my opinion, and she looks fantastic here. The hair is gorgeous, and her outfit gives Miku a very mature feel. Also I am a sucker for clear PVC, which Miku has in droves. But my favorite aspect of this figure is her face–it’s just rendered so beautifully! She should be going up for order tomorrow.

I am not a fan of how glossy her head and the tops of her twin tails look.
I’m with Digisokicola! As much of a fan as I am of clear PVC, these past few Mikus that’ve been trying to use the shiny look have just looked way too plasticy for my taste. It would look better with matte paint. As much as I love the sculpting, she’s an easy pass for me.
Oddly I actually like the hair this time. I don’t know why but it actually seems to work with this look in comparison to the tony taka versions which were…less consistent I guess… I don’t know it just seems to fit in better this time for me. Don’t know if I will get but its a really damn fine sculpt.
