Good Smile Company’s Tenshi Comes With A Nasty Surprise

I honestly have no idea what has gotten into Good Smile Company recently. It seems like they are hell-bent on making figure collecting as inconvenient and expensive as possible, with lottery prizes and exclusives out the wazoo. Thankfully it’s been only Nendoroids and repaints now, but they’ve pulled their worst trick yet on one of their most anticipated figures. You may remember that their first Tenshi was… lackluster, to say the least, so people were quite excited when a new one was announced. She looked absolutely stunning at WonFest, and I was already excited about pre-orders finally opening.

Well, don’t get your hopes up, this Tenshi is an exclusive. And no, not to their shop so you can buy directly from them. She’s a Dengeki exclusive, which means proxys and crazy EMS pricing (no way those wings fit into a SAL box). With an already-high retail of ¥8,400 for a 1/8 scale figure, Tenshi here might break the bank for a lot of collectors. They’ve also, for some bizarre reason, made her dress cast-off. I don’t think it really adds anything to the figure, but maybe it will be a draw for some. In any case, you have until October 30th to get orders in and she’ll be released in March. Proxies should put her up soon, and we’ll be sure to list when they do.
