Sometimes I feel quite conflicted about Griffon’s Touhou Project line. I adore a lot of the designs and I own 6 of them, with 4 more on order. But some of the figures feel incredibly flat to me, and I eventually lose interest in their stuff for a while. But inevitably they put out pictures of something fantastic, like their gorgeous Hinania Tenshi who was just shown off in color.
The colors on this figure are fantastic, and her expression is quite different from Griffon’s normal passive faces. Her outfit looks great, and it seems like a lot of detail went into her hair sculpt. Throw in some badass boots and a flaming sword made out of clear PVC and I am sold! Did I mention that she has fruit on her epic hat? Yeah, she’s just that awesome.
Like most of their Touhou fare, Tenshi is 1/8 scale. She will be available for order soon, and while she’s an exclusive she’ll be up at AmiAmi for the usual discounted price. Expect her to be around ¥7,000~¥8,000, which is a bit expensive but what we’ve come to expect from them. I know after my pleasant experience with their Ellis I have high hopes for this angel to come out looking spectacular!
