Griffon’s new Touhou Project girls seem to be trickling in at a snail’s pace. Instead, they seem to be working on a whole lot of re-releases and ignoring the announcement of Lorelai Mystia, not to mention all those other just-art Touhou girls. Well, we still don’t know anything about those figures, but they have announced a new Touhou girl: Keine! Sure, they already did a version of her, but it was one of their first in the line and admittedly very dull. Hopefully like Iku, the second version is better.
They had a second (non-Touhou) announcement hidden away: a sculpted Shirakiin Ririchiyo from Inu x Boku SS! She seems mildly popular, though we haven’t really gotten any nice figures of her yet. Maybe this will be the first!

Ririchiyo, nice. Being new to figures I was wondering if you could tell me how Griffon’s figures rank quality wise?
Ririchiyo’s pose looks simple but I like that it’s her alternate form. Now we just need her faithful dog.
Griffon is a mid-tier company. Their figures are okay, but usually not spectacular. They DO have the potential to make some really amazing stuff–their Sakuya last year was totally flawless and pretty amazing, and they’ve had some fantastic Touhou girls recently (Cirno, Flan v. 2, POP Remilia). Their colors are usually very good, and the sculpt on their clothing is awesome. Where they fall flat is faces (they’re very similar), posing (it’s a bit dull), and quality control (expect some minor seamlines/excess plastic from the mold). They’ve improved their quality control a lot recently though, they used to have a lot of overlapping paint/print issues that they seem to have really taken care of!
Personally, I like Griffon and have never had a terrible experience with them. They made one of my favorite Tamakis and I have been quite pleased with the Touhou girls I’ve gotten from them. They’re not one of the best, but they are generally decent and worth it if it’s a character/sculpt you really love. Ririchiyo doesn’t seem overly popular, so I think Griffon’s would be a good choice barring an announcement from Alter/MF/Orchid (which doesn’t seem likely).
Thanks, for weighing in. I’ll probably I’ll order when she gets put up. The only other Alt. version of her I’ve seen is from Movic, and that was kind of meh. It looks like Taito is doing a version of her in her party dress though.
I like original Keine so if this one’s going to get better that’ll be another must own. Ms Laser-firing Were-hakutaku/cow is a favourite of mine. Oh wait it’s Ex-Keine? Even better!
Lol, she’s probably gonna look like another of griffon’s recolours to anyone who doesn’t follow the games.
