While male characters usually don’t get a ton of attention compared to their female conterparts, one guy who definitely does NOT need any more figures is the MC of Persona 4, also known as Yu Narukami. We’ve got the Bandai version, MegaHouse’s awesome take on the character, and of course the Special Kuji. Now we’re getting ANOTHER set of lottery prize figures, this time courtesy of Happy Kuji–which so far has just done Mikus. Does that mean GSC is doing… actual prize figures? Because unlike FamilyMart Miku, this version of Yu does not look like a regular 1/8 scale figure.
Honestly, I have no idea what the point of this is. If you want a figure of Yu, you have tons and tons of options. So where are the figures of characters people actually want? You know: Kanji, Yosuke, and Naoto. Everyone else on the cast seems to get a large amount of merchandise, except for them. Happy Kuji’s site shows that there are many more Persona 4 prizes to come (2 of them larger figures), but sadly I really doubt we’ll get any larger ones of anyone else aside from Izanagi, Chie, and Yukiko. Oh, and maybe Konohana Sakuya or Teddie… since we don’t have enough of those already. I really wouldn’t complain if we got something besides the winter school uniform, like maybe causal outfits?
EDIT: Well, it seems I have to take back my negativity! Not towards Yu, BUT the other two figures will be…. *drumroll* Yosuke and Naoto! FINALLY! Though, given the price of Happy Kuji on the aftermarket I’m not too sure if this is actually good news or bad news.
