Head To The Races With The Newest Miku Nendoroid

Miku’s popularity is something of a mystery–the blue-haired diva seems almost irresistibly cute, and companies take full advantage of that! One of her many forms is as a sponsor for GSC’s racing team, with a different look for each of the past 4 years. At Wonder Festival her 2012 look was debuted, along with word of a figma and Nendoroid. This is a much more futuristic look for Miku, and a lot more cutesy than previous racing versions! Sadly we have no actual images of the Nendoroid, just a concept sketch, but if she’s anything like the last 3 she’ll have tons of awesome accessories.

Of course both the Nendo & figma will be exclusive, with the Nendoroid first up to rob our wallets. You can get different levels of sponsorship packs, with the cheapest being ¥8,000 and the most expensive a whopping ¥50,000. You can check out all the different levels in the gallery, but basically the more money you spend the more totally useless stuff you get. The basic pack comes with the Nendoroid, a ticket holder, a metal keyring, and some folders. It seems pricey, but some of your money is going to help a racing team you don’t care about! Lovely!

Thankfully, orders are for once open to international customers so you won’t have to pay proxy fees. Orders are open here, though it seems like for this figure GSC has ditched their flat-rate EMS shipping unfortunately. Also group orders are out because each order is limited to one figure and you have to pay separate shipping. Basically, they want to squeeze as much money out of us as possible! But these Nendoroids usually fetch a really high price on the after-market so if you are a fan it’s definitely a worthwhile purchase. Orders will be open until May 7th so you have a while to make up your mind, and she should be released in October.
