Hot Toys Takes Us Back To The 80s With Their New Batman And Joker

Back at San Diego Comic Con, we got a glimpse of the 1989 version of the Joker at the Sideshow Collectibles Hot Toys display, and a few weeks later the Batman Begins version of Bruce Wayne went up for order. Now, not only the Joker, but also a 1989 version of Batman have gone up for order and both are truly stunning. For those that are more of a fan of the older, bolder, more in your face with yellow design of the Batsuit as seen in the 1989 Batman movie by Tim Burton starring Michael Keaton, now’s your opportunity to own him as a Hot Toys figure.

Batman comes with a whole slew of accessories as well as a bloodied face and looks quite badass here unlike most people’s memories of his character in the movie. Also, for those wondering, Hot Toys will be making a 1/6th scaled Batmobile to match this figure, which should be out earlier next year. Let’s not forget Michael Keaton’s co-star and Batman’s most famous villain though: the Joker! This version of the Joker is based upon Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of the Joker and contains his much more colorful outfit and whimsical accessories.

If you’re looking to add either of these to your collection, Batman and the Joker will be available 1st quarter 2012 with Batman retailing for $239.99 and the Joker retailing for $264.99. Both of these 1/6th scaled poseable figures look quite amazing and really show off just how far Hot Toys has come and continue to set a new standard for quality in poseable figures. Are any of you readers thinking of picking either of these up or are you more partial to the newer Christian Bale Batman from the Christopher Nolan movies?
