Kidrobot’s Triclops 8″ René London Dunny

Kidrobot’s Dunnys haven’t really been catching my eye as items that I’d like to add to my collection lately, but that all changed when I saw the preview for their latest 8″ Dunny designed by Triclops Studios named René London. This 8″ Dunny was teased on a t-shirt as well as on Paul Budnitz’ blog a while back, and now that we can see it in all of its glory, it truly is a work of art. Touching on their 3″ UK series design with the addition of the hat and umbrella and usage of a clear head, this already was one great design to start from, but the homage to René Magritte’s famous artwork The Son of Man takes it to another level. On the back of the Dunny is a homage to another of Magritte’s works Treachery of Images via the inscription of “Ceci n’est pas une Dunny” on the back and the pipe accessory in its hand. All around, this is one outstanding piece and truly is a work of art.

If you want to add this unique piece to your collection, it will be available from Kidrobot’s website and other Kidrobot retailers starting August 18th and will retail for $75 (£60.00 UK, 69.60€ Europe) and will be an edition of 1,000. Also, for those of you in London, you can stop by Kidrobot London on the 18th from 6-8 pm to not only pick up one of this great Dunny, but also meet Rob and Luc of Triclops. Will any of you readers be picking up this Dunny that’s not a Dunny?
