My perception of Hawkeye used to be that he was a less-cool Marvel version of Green Arrow. Now, after Green Arrow’s unfortunate downward spiral due to terrible writing, Hawkeye has taken the place of “coolest superhero with a bow & arrow.” Plus he’s part of the new Avengers movie that everyone is all hyped up for and a new Marvel series has started with him as the star, so Hawkeye’s popularity is definitely on the rise!
Kotobukyia has taken advantage of this by adding him to their Avengers line, which we saw back at SDCC. Several figures in this line have gone up for order, and Captain America just got his final, finished look. It seems like the time is ripe for a new addition, and Hawkeye has swooped in to fill the void of purple-clad superheroes! The concept art is looking pretty snazzy, and I love the color palette they’ve chosen. There will probably be either an unpainted prototype or at least a big, shiny picture of the art at NYCC (which starts today!), and Plastikitty is doing live coverage so look forward to tons of pictures from Kotobukiya’s booth!
