Kotobukiya Shows Off Bishoujo X-23 Painted

Back at SDCC, we got to get an up-close look at the unpainted prototype of the X-23 Bishoujo. Well, only a few weeks later, we finally get to see her in color! The colored prototype was actually at Wonder Festival, but this is the first time we’ve seen nice shots. And man, is she looking good! Like Mystique, she has a unique pose (read: not standing), and the mix of blacks really stands out against her pale skin.

My favorite part is, of course, her clear hair, which reminds me a lot of what they did with Ms. Marvel. There’s so much movement, and the clear PVC gives it a sense of lightness. It also seems like they’ve gone for a more comic-style face, as her nose and lips are a lot more accentuated than they usually are on PVC figures. It’s unusual, but I think it works really well with the character! Her US release date is March, and she should be $59.99 like all of the other girls. Pre-orders should be up soon, and we’ll be sure to let you know when this vixen is ready to join your collection!
