Idolm@ster has seen a recent surge in popularity, especially in the figure world with tons of companies producing figures and even dolls of the girls. My favorite idol, Miki Hoshii, has gotten a particularly large amount of merchandise but my favorite by far was Kotobukiya’s ‘Angelic Island’ swimsuit version of her. It’s just so cute and… well, angelic! They’re doing a recolor for LaLaBit Market, the ‘Shou Akuma no Mizugi’ version, and it’s definitely quite different from the first!
While only her swimsuit has been changed (along with the direction of her eyes), I think the black works beautifully to set this figure apart from the first version. In fact, personally I like it better! The dark swimsuit really contrasts with her blonde hair. She’ll retail for ¥7,800 with a March release, but of course as an exclusive you’ll have to pay more. The high price is making me question picking her up, but I really do adore this version!
