Kotobukiya is not as big on recolors as some other companies (excluding the Bishoujo line), and we usually don’t see a lot of alternate versions from them. When they do dabble in using a figure twice, we usually get some nice changes like we saw in their 1/7 swimsuit Blanc Neige and the swimsuit Hayane. Now it seems like we are going to get a similar recolor of their lovely 1/8 scale Lorna from Shining Hearts. While this isn’t an official announcement, it seems like almost all of Kotobukiya’s new figures get leaked early and the image definitely looks legitimate.
The most obvious change in the “Awakening” version is the color swap: her outfit is now shaded heavily with grey, her hair and tail are grey, she’s paler, and her eyes are red. Her expression has also changed and she’s been given a new weapon: instead of the claws she has an icy-looking sword. Seeing as how WonFest is right around the corner this might be exclusive to the event, but I doubt it: Kotobukiya’s exclusives are almost always available online as well. I like this cooler take on Lorna, maybe even better than the original, as the wolfish designs of her character really shine through. Hopefully we’ll all get a chance to own her!
