I’ll be the first to admit that I am not the hugest fan of most statues, mainly due to quality control and face sculpt issues. But every once in a while, something comes out that totally blows me away. This time it’s from, surprise, DC themselves! I was never on board with the statues produced when they were DC Direct, but I adore the direction of this line. It’s basically superheroines as WWII-era pinpus. There’s Wonder Woman in a very Rosie the Riveter-esque pose (slated for March 2013 release) and Supergirl looking like one of those great plane art girls (slated for June 2013 release). They’ll be in the $125-150 price range, really a bargain given how large they are, and I will most definitely be pre-ordering both of these beauties! Apparently they have art done for several more girls, and I absolutely can’t wait to see what’s next. Perhaps a Gil Elvgren-style Batgirl or Catwoman?

God I love these. I’ll be getting.
Sadly..or thankfully? since it seems like March is going to be pretty full for me, I don’t like Wonder Woman’s legs, it’s probably just the way the boots are but it looks like she’s got cankles.
Super Girl on the other hand I love, will definitely try to pick her up.
Interesting how Harley is slated for January but there’s no pictures of her.
How big are these anyway?
There isn’t a Harley in the Bombshells line (yet)–the card for her & Wonder Woman is for a different Harley, the Arkham City one which has been up for order for a while. They just share the same info card! We will have shots of that Harley, but she’s not new. I wouldn’t doubt that they’d do a Harley in this line, they said they have a ton of designs lined up for it.
They’re about 1/6–quite large, especially Supergirl in that pose!
Good to know, thanks!
I even like the WWII-esque bases they are on. I always meant to buy a book or two of WWII nose art. Supergirl is the $hit, and Wonder Woman is growing on me.
Just imagine how cool Catwoman or Harley could be in this line….DAMMIT, just when I said I was gonna take it easy with the figure buying in 2013….
I love that you know the references the artists used in making these ladies, and I hope nobody comes around knocking pinup girls! I think more girls than boys love pinups, but then–maybe they only don’t like them when a girl asks the question! Wonder Woman is a little too beefy for me, but Supergirl, Supergirl! That’s a whole lot of allowances I’ll have to save up!
