Kotobukiya always has a few Bishoujo announcements on hand at conventions they attend, but this year at New York Comic Con we had only one: a Marvel Bishoujo of Kitty Pryde! Kitty is my absolute favorite Marvel girl, and I’ve been waiting for her announcement for a while now. She seems to have been met with mixed reactions, but at this point this seems par for the course on the Bishoujo line. Personally, I’m on the “like” side, especially since the final product will include Lockheed.
We got a chance to shoot Kitty behind the glaring display case glass, and it was nice to take a closer look at this figure. Her design doesn’t have a lot of wow factor nor is there any way to effectively show her power in action, so I think this is really one for fans of the character. She does have Shunya’s signature butts and boobs pose going on, though thankfully without the spine-breaking action we saw on Psylocke! I’m really looking forward to her promotional shots, though this prototype is still a work in progress so it might be a while till we see more of her. Hopefully the original art is unveiled soon though!
I kind of hope they have the base be something that’s going up into the figure or something built in like that in some way so it would be that hard to have her power on display. I really kind of hope they do something like that. But it’s still damn nice to see another product where kitty and lockheed are a mighty pair
I think it’d be cool to have her phasing through something, but at the same time I don’t know if there’s a way to pull that off without looking ridiculous. The Bowen one kind of looks like her leg is…. stuck in a pole.
