Vinyl figures can be based on some pretty goofy things like, say, trees! Food seems to be a pretty big theme, with figures based on everything from cheese to ice cream. But the whackiest food-based theme so far is definitely sushi, which seems to pop up incredibly often. The most famous is probably Andrew Bell‘s O-No Sushi, and he recently put out a companion piece, the O-No Sashimi. Stephen and I picked up the blue version at SDCC, and right after we got home another Japanese concoction arrived in the mail–Paul Shih‘s Sushi Kaiju!
We decided that them coming so close together couldn’t be a coincidence, it was a sign from the vinyl gods to do a sushi-themed photoshoot!
