People always say that Dollfies are a whole other level of collecting, and once you get one you realize how true that is. Attachments run a lot deeper with dolls, and of course you have to be more picky because of their high cost. Well, I suppose some people just buy all of the releases to expand their collection like they’re Pokemon, but Stephen and I try to only pick ones that we really love.
As such, we can’t help but imagine what some of our favorite characters would look like in doll-form. How would Volks do the faceup? What would the stock clothing look like? And which ones would we want the most? If you collect any kind of dolls, you end up asking these kind of questions, so we decided to go through and pick our top 10 wished Dollfies!
Leah’s Picks:
Elwing & Xecty: Volks has already made two Tony Taka Dollfies, Aerie and Nellis, but they seem to tackle the easy to make characters. Taka has a lot of animal girls or fantasy characters, and I’d love to see some of them in doll form. Elwing and Xecty, the elf girls from Shining Wind, are definitely my first picks. Elwing is one of my all-time favorite characters, so I’d adore a Dollfie rendition of her and her clone.
Miyuria: Continuing on with the elf-girl trends is Myuria from Star Ocean. Yeah, I’m kind of obsessed with elf ears! I think Myuria would make a perfect DDdy, and I’d love to see what Volks would do with her outfit, tattoos, and jewelry. We don’t have any Dollfies with tattoos or piercings so far, but I think they could really make it work.
KOS-MOS: KOS-MOS is the pipe dream of my list. The others have at least a slim chance of getting made, or could be customized. But KOS-MOS? She’s a robot girl with roughly a zillion accessories! I’m sure she’d be even more expensive than Saber Lily if they attempted to make her, but I think the results would be stunning.
Yukari Yakumo: Volks has already produced 3 Touhou girls, and considering their popularity I doubt that Sakuya is the last one they’ll produce. My #1 pick for a fourth addition to the line would definitely be Yukari, the lazy demon. I think her mature design would make for a gorgeous face sculpt, and most Dollfies tend to be rather young-looking so it would be a nice change of pace!
Hitagi Senjougahara: This pick is based solely on what the face-up and sculpt would look like. I didn’t particularly like Bakemonogatari and Hitagi was too antagonistic for my taste, but her character design is stunning. Her thin, sharp eyes and distinctive features would be so alluring in Dollfie form, and I need a girl with purple hair! Also, think of the accessories–all kind of Dollfie-sized stationary!
Stephen’s Picks:
Madoka Girls: Considering that Groove and Azone have already announced lines of the girls of Puella Magi: Madoka Magica, it seems like a logical choice for Volks to pick up this license and produce some sure-fire sell out dolls. From Madoka’s adorableness to Homura’s stoic, yet powerful face, and Mami’s kick ass outfit and hair, this would be one great line of dolls. The only question is what Dollfie body would they use: DDS or DDIII?
Panty & Stocking: Volks has already worked with Gainax quite a bit and has produced Evangelion Dollfies already, but I’d love to see their take on Panty and Stocking. If done in their angel forms, they could be pulled off quite well, or even in the angel-style with regular outfits. I’d love to see their crazy hair and it’d be nice to see Volks produce some more Dollfies of livelier characters.
Motoko: With the recent release of Solid State Society in 3D in theaters, the Ghost in the Shell merchandise train has picked up steam again. Motoko is one of anime’s most prominent females and I think now that we have the DDIII body, she’d be a perfect fit and a favorite of many.
Miku Hatsune: If there’s one character that seems to be a long-term “it girl”, it’s most certainly Miku. Volks has the Vocaloid license as they were the first company to produce a figure of Miku here, and even with Groove putting out a Pullip rendition of Miku as well, I’d still love to see Volks’ take on her as a Dollfie.
Yagyu Jubei/Hyakka Ryouran Girls: The Hyakka Ryouran girls are some of the most interestingly designed characters of late. From unique hair styles to elaborate outfits, these girls would all make for stunning additions to the Dollfie universe, especially the main girl herself, Yagyu, and Senhime also seen above. The possibilities are endless though; multiple Dollfie sizes could be used like with the ToHeart2 line.
So that’s it for our Dollfie wishlists! There are several other we would have added, like Kirino and Kuroneko, but we already have customs of them in the work… as well as a certain green-haired lady. So, what would you guys like to see in Dollfie form? Let us know in the comments!

While Miura from Star Ocean is certainly interesting, I’d find Reimi’s outfit to be far more interesting to make in Dolfie form. Also totally agree on KOS-MOS. I would to anything in my power to buy her if she ever came out.
I rarely keep my dolls in their stock outfits (with the notable exception of Charlotte, who is NEVER leaving that dress), so I went more with what I imagined the face-up to be. I agree that Reimi has a much better outfit, but I think elf-girl would have a prettier face… though I picture Reimi looking kind of like Yuki, and god knows her faceup is stunning!
