While I am still totally baffled by the amount of figures we are getting from the bizarre Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, it seems the flood is only continuing to grow in size! Today there was an online broadcast featuring all of the upcoming releases from the show, including quite a few we knew about. The announcements from Kotobukiya, Chara-Ani & Volks are still on track, though it seems like no sculpting progress has been made on them. Kotobukiya has announced a second figure as well of the busty Tomo Asama! She’ll be in a battle pose as a contrast to Max Factory’s Tomo.
The announcements from August’s magazine scans also made an appearance: Hobby Japan’s Mary is sculpted, and actually looking really cute! Nendoroid Horizon is still in the sculpt stage, though hopefully she’ll come out as cute as Nendoroid Tomo. Alter’s Kazuno also popped up, as well as one last new announcement. Volks will be doing a figure of her as well! Not exactly thrilling, since Volks is quite expensive and I doubt they could ever beat out Alter. If you lost track, we have 7 figures from 6 different companies in this little announcement alone. Damn! I wonder if figmas are next in line?

Hmmm really interested with the new Tomo figure from Kotobukiya but I’m having second thoughts, what are the chances of Kotobukiya sculpting her properly? I’ve seen other Koto figures and they are not as good as the prototype unlike Max Factory which almost looks identical to their prototypes. BTW is Mary still under Hobby Japan and will be possibly handled by Amakuni?=D It’s also kinda weird that companies are not making Horizon being the female lead of the showXD
To be honest, the only company I trust to really deliver on prototype quality is Alter. MF has had some flops in the past (like the swimsuit Xecty, urgh) but for the most part they’re very good–but then again, Koto has delivered some really amazing figures in the past year or so like the exclusive Nellis. I think it depends on what figure you like more, really. MF’s is probably more expensive and uhh lecherous, whereas it seems Koto’s will be more of an action pose.
Mary’s manufacturer is currently unknown, lots of companies work with Hobby Japan so it could really be anyone! And yeah, it’s odd that we only have Volks and Wave working on Horizon. Maybe MF will do her too?
