Another week, another batch of PVC pre-orders. This seemed to be a particularly good week, with a ton of figures that people were really looking forward to. Like oh, you know, the Goddess Madoka duo and the best male figure ever! We’ve also got quite a few beach figures, which is funny given how cold it is now (and how chilly it will be when these ladies are released), along with a poseable nurse and one laughably bad figure. Check them all out below!
Alter
Hanna-Justina Marseille | 1/8 | ¥8,800 | February
Gertrud Barkhorn | 1/8 | ¥7,800 | February | Re-release
Leah: I really love Hanna, though I am a big fan of the whole SW line! However, the reissue of Gertrud instead of Yoshika or Sanya is kind of annoying… I mean, she just came out!
Stephen: Hanna looks great and I can’t wait to add her in with the rest of my gals!
CM’s Corporation
Nurse Soniko | Gutto-Kuru | ¥10,800 | December
Leah: Expensive, but so cute!
Stephen: Pricey, but way too well executed for me to pass over considering my gigantic love of Soniko!
FREEing
Kanade Suzutsuki | 1/8 | ¥8,800 | March
Leah: If you were wondering why this figure is so goddamn terrible, the sculptor used to work for Taki Corp. Yup, FREEing is now using sculptors from the worst figure company ever. Good job.
Stephen: Pricey and crappy! A combination that means this is a surefire skip for me.
Good Smile Company
Goddess Madoka | Nendoroid | ¥3,500 | April
Leah: Cute, but a little lacking in accessories.
Stephen: Cute and well done, but I feel like I’m the only person that’s REALLY sick of seeing Goddess Madoka everywhere.
Griffon
Youmu Konpaku | 1/8 | ¥8,400 | December | Exclusive
Leah: I really like the Curiosities of Lotus Asia line, plus I don’t have a single figure of Youmu discounting the Nendo. But December…
Stephen: I really like this figure, but I really dislike when it’s coming out.
Kaitendoh
Enma | 1/8 | ¥8,000 | January
Leah: I do like her, but I still don’t 100% trust Kaitendoh. Perhaps it’s best to wait for a discount unless you really love her.
Stephen: She’s a really interesting figure, but not 8k interesting, more like 4k.
Kotobukiya
Yayoi Takatsuki | 1/7 | ¥7,800 | March
Kuroneko | 1/7 | ¥6,800 | March
Leah: Two cute beach figures! Kuroneko is my favorite of the two, mainly because I am a huge fan of the character.
Stephen: These are two of the most adorable figures in a while and I feel like this is what the Beach Queens line COULD be, but just isn’t.
Max Factory
Goddess Madoka | figma | ¥4,800 | February
Aoba | 1/7 | ¥14,095 | March
Leah: Honestly, I am starting to find all the Goddess Madoka figures a bit “meh.” Do we really need a figure, figma, and a Nendo? Especially since she is SO pricey but comes with almost no extras. Aoba, however, I adore! So unique.
Stephen: Aoba is the clear winner of these two; unique, highly detailed, and able to stand on his own merits as opposed to being just the latest in a long line of figures from a show I stopped caring about what seems like years ago.
Wave
Inori | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | May
Nyarlathotep | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | May
Leah: Inori looks… drunk. Serious derp face! But Nyarla is cute, I mean who doesn’t want to see The Crawling Chaos in a bikini?
Stephen: I do like both of these; Inori is contemplative, which is different than most Beach Queens and Nyarla actually has a pose other than just standing there.
Well, that’s it for this jam packed week of goodies! Are you goddess Madoka’d out or are you clamoring for more? Let us know how the week panned out for you in the comments below!

Guess I’m not the only person who isn’t impressed by Godoka. As much as I loved the show, I was never that big a fan of her design and none of the figures of her so far have appealed to me whatsoever. Easy skips for me.
As far as other figures go, Nyarlathotep looks interesting for a BQ, though I’m still holding out for other figures of her (the show is getting a second season anyway). Kuroneko looks really good as well, though she hasn’t given me a ‘need it at all cost’ feeling yet, so I won’t pre-order her. Might pick her up later from a local shop though (they get the cheaper US versions anyway).
And I really do have to wonder about Freeings management. First their figures get insanely overpriced, their quality goes downhill (think Dalian) and now they’re hiring guys that worked for Taki? Is the guy in charge trying to drive his company into the ground or what?
starting googling Dramatical Murder thanks to this! the character designs are really fun, even tho PC games aren’t my thing.
