You might have noticed the absence of a Pre-Order Roundup last week, which was due to an unfortunately timed case of food poisoning. And we’re a bit late this week as well, but we pushed through the sickness just to give you a hit of PVC ordering goodness. Just kidding, we’re actually doing much better!
This week we’ve got one figure that will probably overwhelm all the others (you all know who I am talking about) but there were some other gems. Everyone’s favorite priestess is now a Beach Queen, Max Factory revived a figure from the grave, we got a spectacular version of Mari from Evangelion, and as always, lots more!
Amie-Grand
Charlotte Dunois | 1/8 | ¥13,800 | September
Leah: Over 10k, small, undetailed, and September… it’s like the perfect storm of nope.
Stephen: No point in ordering this whatsoever.
Good Smile Company
Goddess Madoka | 1/8 | ¥14,800 | November
Leah: I am trying as hard as I can to be positive about this figure. Yes, she’s gorgeous, but… her head is SO big! I ended up being less than pleased with HSP Miku for the same reasons, so hopefully it looks smaller in person. Also I wish they’d kept the wings solid… the clear looks cheap to me (and this is coming from someone who LOVES clear PVC).
Stephen: Well, she’s finally here, looks great, and is just as ridiculously pricey as we all imagined.
Griffon
Airi | 1/8 | ¥5,900 | August | Re-release
Reina | 1/8 | ¥5,900 | August | Re-release
Kanu Unchou | 1/7 | ¥7,600 | August | Re-release | NSFW
Leah: I don’t know why Griffon chose to re-release the world’s most boring Queen’s Blade figures. Really, they put me to sleep. And I wish they’d make some new Kanus instead of just re-releasing all the old ones… or at least re-release the damn Nekomimi Kanu, aka the only one we actually want.
Stephen: A bunch of re-releases that can easily be passed up without regret. Nothing major from Griffon this week.
Kotobukiya
Mari Makinami | 1/7 | ¥7,800 | November
Leah: I am SO in love with this Mari! She’s one of my favorite characters and it’s nice to finally see a decent figure of her in the green suit.
Stephen: Koto did a great job with this Mari and she’s going to slide under a lot of radars I feel like.
Max Factory
Izumi Shizuno | 1/7 | ¥7,800 | October
Leah: Izumi is my favorite of the se.kirara girls, but this figure leaves me disappointed. Why does her bra have to be showing? It takes away a lot from the figure for me… I am fine with hints of NSFW, but it is going to look soooo weird with the other girls.
Stephen: Izumi looks quite different from Aya and has a very different all around feel to her. I feel like two different people worked on these figures with someone else overseeing them as opposed to the same person working on them, but I know that’s not the case, which just adds to the odd nature of it all.
MegaHouse
Sena Kashiwazaki | 1/8 | ¥7,800 | September
Leah: This is very lackluster and not at all up to MH’s standards. I feel like they’ve been slacking lately… first the unfinished-looking Rewrite girl, then the weird arms on Yukiko, now a doofy Sena.
Stephen: Insta-pass. No need for more of Sena especially when it’s this sub-par.
Q-Six
Mai Ichijou Yellow & White Versions | 1/6 | ¥15,800 | September | NSFW
Yellow: AmiAmi | Hobby Search
White: AmiAmi | Hobby Search
Leah: This is bad in every single possible way. It doesn’t look anything like Mai… compared to the Orchid Seed version of her, this is a joke. A very expensive joke.
Stephen: It looks like a bunch of water-balloons wrapped in a swimsuit with a human head attached… for about $200. No. Just no.
Wave
Yukiko Amagi | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | December
Ami Futami | 1/8 | ¥7,800 | December
Leah: Yukiko and the last of the Ryugu Komachi gang! A good week for Wave, though I think Yukiko could use a bit of polishing up.
Stephen: Two fairly solid releases from Wave to round out the week. Yukiko looks pretty great and Ami is adorable!
Well, that’s it for this week of lackluster re-releases, giant breasts, and a giant goddess that no one can seem to stop talking about. What did you pick up this week or was it a bust for you? Let us know in the comments below!

I love Yukiko, but she really does need some polishing up. I feel that way about most Beach Queen releases though.
Man, that Charlotte is ridiculous. 140 bucks for something that looks like a prize figure? You might as well get one from Sega instead.
Anyway, nothing interesting for me this week. Madoka is nice but too expensive and I’m not too fond of Mari’s color scheme. And, well, the rest is either meh or just crap.
*tinfoil hat-mode* Maybe a lot of companies decided not to bother because they’re getting overshadowed by Godoka anyway.
That really might be right: companies are aware of the order schedule, and I know Alter has at least one big release (Yagyu Gisen) that really should have gone up this week but didn’t, it’s entirely possible that they were just waiting for Godoka craziness to blow over.
