It’s the last week before Wonder Festival, which means it’s the last chance companies have to put revealed figures up for order. This is actually quite important, since after all the new stuff has been shown off people tend to forget about all the remaining bits and pieces. So there’s a big rush this week to get stuff up for order and done with, which means lots and lots of figures! We’ve got 4 releases from Good Smile Company, 4 from Wave, 3 from Max Factory, as well as a bunch of companies we don’t usually see coming out of the woodwork as well. So hit the jump to check them all out!
Akeno Himejima | 1/4.5 | ¥15,800 | August | NSFW
Leah: This has to be some of the worst figure anatomy I’ve ever seen. It’s actually kind of impressive how bad it is!
Stephen: I love the image here with just the random floating foot. Who would buy this!?
Laura Bodewig | 1/8 | ¥9,800 | December
Leah: It’s kind of a bummer how expensive Laura is, but given all she comes with (2 faces, eyepatch, 2 hairstyles, plates, gun) I guess it’s okay–she is too cute to pass up!
Stephen: Laura is so awesome looking and considering it’s Alter, I don’t mind the price.
Houki Shinonono | 1/8 | ¥18,858 | August 2013
Leah: That is a big pricetag, but at least you have a long time to save up!
Stephen: Houki is so awesome that there’s absolutely no way I’m passing up on this.
Katherine | 1/8 | ¥6,200 | November
Leah: Katherine looks so much better than Catherine… I wish they were both as nice, because Katherine looks great.
Stephen: Katherine here came out great and the low price point just sweetens the deal.
Toko Kurosawa | 1/4 | ¥14,800 | December | NSFW
Elsa | 1/5 | ¥15,800 | December | NSFW
Leah: The funniest thing about Toko is that the body is “stolen” from one of their other figures. Elsa, though, I really like–I feel like she’d look amazing with Tsuneko.
Stephen: I’m not feeling either of these at all.
Leah: Why don’t you like Elsa ;~;
Elsea & Haqua | 1/6 | ¥16,000 | November
Leah: I don’t know if I can forgive Clayz for taking some of my favorite Miyagawa sculpts and making them into stupidly expensive resin kits instead of PVC releases. Do they WANT to go out of business?
Stephen: What happened to when these would be PVC figures for less than half of this price? I miss that time…
Good Smile Company
Renne | Nendoroid | ¥3,500 | November
Monster Hunter Male Lagia Armor Ver. | Nendoroid | ¥4,000 | November
Nodoka Haramura | Nendoroid | ¥3,800 | December
Nanoha Exelion Mode | Nendoroid | ¥4,000 | November
Leah: That is a LOT of Nendoroids! I think Nanoha is pointless and the Monster Hunter Nendo is disappointing, but I love Renne and Nodoka is cute. 2 out of 4 isn’t so bad!
Stephen: Pretty much what Leah said. I still can’t believe we’re getting another Nanoha Nendoroid, but even more surprisingly I can’t believe just how badly they screwed up the Monster Hunter Nendoroid’s paint job.
Huntress | 1/7 | ¥6,800 | November
Leah: HUNTRESS! This is definitely my favorite Bish so far, and I think it will take a lot to top her.
Stephen: Having seen this beauty in person, I can say without a doubt that she is the single best Bishoujo figure yet and I doubt anything will top her anytime soon, if ever.
Tsubasa Kazanari | figma | ¥3,800 | November
Saber Zero | 1/8 | ¥5,200 | December | Re-release
Kiritsugu Emiya | 1/8 | ¥6,857 | December | Re-release
Leah: Like GSC, MF has a lot of releases this week. I really like Tsubasa but I think Kiritsugu and Saber are only so-so.
Stephen: Tsubasa is pretty unique and Kiritsugu and Saber have pretty low price points, which is a plus I guess considering how old their sculpts are.
Cecilia, Laura & Fang Lin | Puchikko | ¥2,500 | October
Leah: Cute, but not something I actually need.
Stephen: Adorable, but really expensive for what they are. They’re priced like Nendoroids yet come with much less.
Kuroyukihime | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | January
Ichika Takatsuki | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | January
Kanna Tanigawa | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | January
Beach Queen Ornament Palm Trees | 1/10 | ¥900 | August
Leah: Is it sad that of Wave’s 4 releases, the only thing I am interested in is the tiny trees?
Stephen: The tree set is awesome, Kuroyukihime has the torso of a really buff 14 year old boy, and the other two are about as generic as can possibly be, hence why I didn’t even bother calling them by their names.
Well, that’s it for this week! Is there anything from last WonFest that you were hoping to see be up for order by now or anything from this next WonFest that you hope goes up for order soon after the convention? Let us know in the comments below!
