Welcome to a week of particularly pretty ladies! And unusually enough, no boys! Even a year ago having a boy would be a big deal, but now it seems like there’s one every week so it’s unusual that we have none! My, how the figure world changes. Of course that’s not all that has changed: figure companies have made leaning a thing of the past, so we also get more adventurous poses… and boy, do we have some nice ones this week! Along with way too many Nendoroids, lots of swimsuit girls, and one chainsaw-wielding babe, so hit the jump to check them all out.
AlphaMax
Chisato Sumiyoshi | 1/7 | ¥6,800 | March
Leah: Chisato is so cute! But I feel like my swimsuit collection is reaching critical mass.
Stephen: Chisato is really cute, but she doesn’t stand out enough for me and I’m not familiar with the source material.
Aquamarine
IA | 1/8 | ¥9,500 | March
Leah: The star of the show for me this week is IA. Everything is perfect, I love her!
Stephen: Pretty damn flawless and unique.
BEAT
Shizuru Nakatsu Regular & White Editions | 1/7 | ¥8,200 | February
Regular: AmiAmi | Hobby Search
White: AmiAmi | Hobby Search
Leah: Her hair and face are really cute, but I do not like the body sculpt or the skimpy swimsuit at all.
Stephen: That swimsuit is just terrifying.
Chara-Ani
Noumi | 1/8 | ¥6,700 | December | Re-Release | NSFW
Leah: Poor Noumi, this is just wrong.
Stephen: Noumi =’(
CM’s Corp
Alice | 1/8 | ¥12,000 | December
Leah: She looks… weird. Like, so close but so far.
Stephen: I like the computer and the bear, but not the figure.
Daiki Kougyou
Aoi Fujimi | 1/6 | ¥14,000 | February | NSFW
Leah: She kind of reminds me of Kotone, but she has no room for her organs. Maybe she stores her lungs in her giant boobs?
Stephen: That mouth just brought me back to 2008. Who is going to buy this!?
Gift
Homura Akemi | 1/8 | ¥9,800 | April
Leah: Ah, what a perfect HomuHomu. I really do love the face, it’s so elegant.
Stephen: So stunning, but every time I look at her pictures, the shading around her mouth just looks like a 5 o’clock shadow to me and makes her look like MANLY HOMU HOMU.
Good Smile Company
Aoko Aozaki | Nendoroid | ¥3,500 | January
Monster Hunter Female | Nendoroid | ¥4,000 | January
Racing Saber | Nendoroid Petit | ¥2,000 | February
Type-Moon Set | Nendoroid Petit | ¥5,800 | February
Leah: NENDO OVERLOAD! Too many! Aoko is okay, the Saber is overpriced, MonHun girl is cute but lacking accessories, so the Type-Moon set is the winner for me this week but overall.. a mediocre set of offerings from GSC.
Stephen: I really like all of these Nendoroid offerings and don’t have any complaints about any of them.
Kotobukiya
Jaycee | 1/7 | ¥6,800 | February
Haruka Amami | Cu-Poche | ¥3,500 | April
Leah: I still think Jaycee’s lip is weird, but I love her colors! And it’s nice to see how reasonably priced the Cu-Poche line is.
Stephen: I really am getting tired of the bishoujo faces looking absolutely nothing like Shunya’s art and having this weird odd style instead when everything else is pretty much spot on. It’s also nice to see the Cu-Poche line starting, but personally, they’ll never be anywhere near as amazing as Nendoroids, and that stupid name just reminds me of this even stupider song every time I hear it.
Media Factory
Miyabi Kannagi | 1/8 | ¥6,800 | March
Leah: I don’t even know what to say about this one. Cute… I guess? But so plain.
Stephen: Whatever.
Orca Toys
Tamaki Kousaka | 1/5 | ¥12,800 | January
Leah: YES GIANT BUNNY TAMAKI COME TO ME
Stephen: GIANT BUNNY TAMAKI YAY!
PLUM
Kanna Tanigawa | 1/7 | ¥6,800 | November
Leah: Her head is so big, her legs are weird. Do not want.
Stephen: Every time I look at her, I see the camera as a pipe bomb and it makes her creepy ass smile even creepier.
Phat! Company
Ikaruga | 1/8 | ¥7,800 |February
Leah: I really dislike this sculptor, I think he’s sub-par and honestly ruins figures he works on (for me at least *cough*Kneesocks*cough*). Ikaruga just looks… off. Weird proportions, blah face.
Stephen: Interesting concept, but she just looks chunky and unnatural. As Leah said, this sculptor really sucks.
Wave
Haruna | 1/10 | ¥3,800 | April
Leah: Chainsaw bikini figure… great Beach Queen or the best Beach Queen?
Stephen: I need this to put her next to the Mawaru Penguindrum Beach Queen to add to the ridiculousness.
Well, that’s it for this week. Lots of disappointment all around for us, but what about you? Anything not meet your expectations or did something blow your expectations out of the water? Let us know in the comments below!

Woah, there sure are a lot of bad figures this week. CM’s Alice was a big dissapointment for me (though her pics have been out for a while) and I do hope that this isn’t the start of a decline in PLUM’s quality with their awkward Kanna, because they’ve been in an upward curve for now (and they still need to make Okabe dammit).
BQ Haruna is my favourite this week, because she looks awesome for a bikini figure (which tend to look boring, imo). Never thought we’d get figures of the Kore wa Zombie desu ka characters, getting this one for sure.
And the winner (for me) is… HOMURA! *o* The concept and mature style… She is awesome. My only one complaint is the price ¬¬
That Aoi Fujimi is terrible… How many are going to sell? Daiki Kougyou has some interesing figures, I can’t understand what were they thinking.
For me, Daiki is either amazing (Tsuneko, their new Kanu, Samurai Sasara) or absolutely terrible. I don’t understand it, it’s like there is no in-between for them!
Ikaruga was disappointing going from thumbnail (right up my alley!) to full view. The main angle is so plain, especially considering the design they’re working with. Other angles on her are so weird I mean – http://myfigurecollection.net/image/Agon1348195465.jpeg. Is that a boob to the left of her sword? It’s like her breasts are moving up and out, repelling each other like matching magnet poles.
Miyagi Kannagi was cute enough (prettily muted colour palette) to get me exploring the show. Wow is she ridiculously tsun. Granted I’m only 2 eps in, but the figure’s the most chipper I’ve seen her.
I’m on the fence about IA, she just has too much possibility of being a leaner. The sculpt is real nice though. if this were Alter, I wouldn’t hesitate.
I can’t even remember the last time any figure leaned–it’s kind of a thing of the past, so I am not too concerned about IA, especially because Aquamarine works with garage kit circles and should definitely know how to prevent it. I mean, we already know IA comes with metal pegs!
