Back during NYCC, Kotobukiya announced their Tekken Bishoujo Asuka Kazama, and since then we haven’t seen any news about her. Kotobukiya really seems to be taking their time with the Tekken line: only two others are even sculpted and Christie (review) is the only release. They do have Lili and Jaycee with finished art and concepts for Xiaoyu and Hwoarang, but it was pretty obvious that Asuka would be the next one finished.
We have some images of the sculpt now, which hasn’t been finalized, but it’s looking good so far! The face, however, is really different: she seemed very round-faced in the art but here she’s more sly and angular-looking. I’m not sure which I prefer, but the face does look very Shunya-esque! They also did a nice job on the body sculpt as she looks very muscular, and I love the different shades of blue on her clothing. I expect we’ll see promo pictures and release info soon.

I really don’t know how I feel. I love the overall sculpt but I’m hoping they fix the face before it’s finalized. I’m really not feeling it with such sharp angles. Overall I like it but with a now limited budget, well, I’m hoping the final version is a little less angular in the face so I can justify adding it to my orders.
The sculpt is amazing, and i love it,…but the face!
I know it is an interpretation of the tekken-char, but it doesn`t really look like asuka`s! I think the face in the illustration of shunya yamashita was good. it had the typical shunya-style but really looked like asuka kazama. this one however is really stylized, and makes the statue look like some girl in asuka`s costume.
i hope it will be changed in the future, as i`m really looking forward to this statue.
they better upgrade the face to look more like asuka, otherwise i wont buy them
