I am always up for some wacky accessories, like a Teddie that will hold your glasses or a glowing lightsaber umbrella. Because on a crowded rainy day in the city, what is better than a giant glowing device to attract attention to yourself?! I know right, this idea is genius.
Blister Direct (which has to be the stupidest name for a toy company) is making lightsaber umbrellas in both blue (Luke Skywalker) and red (Darth Vader). They’re actually pretty damn awesome, and hopefully not powered by something that will electrocute you. They retail for ¥3,970 each and will come out in July with pre-orders for the blue version here and the red version here. I don’t know if these are quite as cool as the umbrella that’s also Saber’s sword, but they are definitely a cool way to show off your fandom! Or, you know, protect the galaxy from evil.

It wasn’t that long ago I saw something on TV about a company coming out with “safety” umbrellas that had light up features, much like these lightsaber umbrellas do. Basically, increasing your visibility on a dark and rainy night when drivers’ visibility is reduced significantly is not a bad thing when you are crossing the street, so I guess there’s some (small?) measure of practicality to this. Not to mention, pretty dang cool for certain Star Wars fans.
