Most companies only do a few different types of things: maybe they have pre-painted PVC figures and model kits, which is usually considered a decent of variety. Volks, however, covers so many different aspects of collecting: dolls, pre-painted PVC, unpainted garage kits, model kits, even action figures! Their garage kits seem very popular, but of course not all of us can paint and assemble one successfully, so they have a “starter” gk line called CharaGumin with pre-painted/tinted resin parts. There won’t be a lot of shading or detailing, but you can pretty much add as much as you want or just leave these kits as-is (a nice option for those of us who are less crafty).
The newest addition to the CharaGumin line is a 1/8 scale bikini figure of Juliana Everheart from Valkyria Chronicles 2. Raita’s designs seem pretty popular recently: in the past few months we’ve gotten a special edition of Alter’s beach Selvaria, Native’s NSFW Misae, and now Juliana. That guy sure loves big boobs! Juliana is 1/8 scale so she sadly won’t fit in with Selvaria–a shame, since I think they’d make a nice duo. However, the tradeoff is a low price point: Juliana only costs ¥7,800! Tack on some proxy fees and she’s still pretty reasonable.
