Prize figures give manufacturers a lot of creative license. Producing an expensive figure of a character in a crazy, non-canon getup can be risky, but with cheap figures with low run numbers you can do pretty much whatever strikes your fancy. Probably the best example of this is all of the crazy outfits the Evangelion girls have been thrown into by Sega, but this time it’s Taito putting ladies in goofy getups.
The main female cast of Infinite Stratos are all going to be made into figures in wedding dresses: Houki Shinonono, Cecilia Alcott, Laura Bodewig, Charlotte Dunois, and Lin Yin Fang. They all look very adorable, and they’re cheap to boot–only ¥800 each! They’re not that small either, as each is almost 8 inches tall.
Sadly, these are Kuji Honpo, which is a lot like Ichiban Kuji. This means that they won’t be going up in regular stores and they will be quite expensive after release. So far there’s only been one Kuji Honpo figure, and it sells for almost $100 on the after-market. However, Taito is a smaller prize-figure manufacturer, and their figures aren’t up to par with Banpresto and Sega. And considering that there are five of these girls, I think they will be a lot easier to obtain!

How long do you think it’ll be before photos are released for them?
It’s hard to estimate exactly when we’ll see the real sculpts. Taito’s first Kuji Honpo, a set of Ika Musume figures, had pictures of the figure shown off only a few days after so we could see these girls quite soon. If they really want to do them like Ichiban Kuji, though, it could be a few months as those are teased 1-2 months in advance.
What I’d like to know is if there’s a larger picture of their full portraits anywhere.
