@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

I am going to be totally honest: I have no friggin idea what is going on with Max Factory’s Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise figures. Yes, now it’s figures plural: the Angela Balzac we already knew about and Dingo. Dingo… what even. Not only is it a horrible name but could this figure BE any more boring? The answer is no.
Not only are they adding figures seemingly at random, but the scale on these is so all over the place. First we thought they were figmas, and when I added Angela to our “Whatever Happened To…” feature she was listed as 1/5. She reappeared shortly later still listed as 1/5. Now they’re both suddenly 1/12. What, who makes scaled figures that tiny! That’s smaller than a Beach Queen. Hopefully they at least have small prices to match.

What’s this, a totally safe for work offering from Orchid Seed?! Not even in a swimsuit or with a short skirt? How strange, but when it was announced that they would be picking up Gleemo’s Touhou kits fans agreed that it was a welcome change. Especially given how coveted this sculpt in particular was! And now that AmiAmi has wrapped up their issues with Orchid, we’ll actually be able to order her–since, like every single Touhou figure, she will be an exclusive.
I absolutely adore this Flan, though my current favorite sculpt of her has to be ques Q’s, I just love her psycho face. This focuses more on her cute side! And the rainbow wings are just to die for. Orders open on the 8th. My only regret is that she does not come on the macaroon base like the original!
[UPDATE] We now have full promotional shots of this cutie–and yes, the donut is removable if you want to see her whole face! She is also very reasonably priced at ¥7,800 with a release way off in October.

One of Kotobukiya’s teasers for MegaHobby was the announcement of a brand new figure: Haruno Shiozaki from One Off, a character that seemingly no one knows about. I thought if they pulled off the whole scooter she’d look fantastic, and I was right! She’s so darn adorable, and has a pretty unique art style. Though I worry about her pricing given how elaborate the base is!
[UPDATE] Haruno will be 1/12 scale, which should greatly reduce her price (and shelf footprint!).

I feel like every other figure we report on these days is an exclusive. Good Smile Company, Hobby Japan, and now Kotobukiya is hopping on board the exclusives train! This time it’s yet another figure of Rei, not exactly a huge shock. Well, at least it’s not Asuka (though I am sure a matching version of her is in the works).
At 1/12 scale, the size of a figma, this is a very small Rei! Sadly her price doesn’t really match up, so while she’s on the cheaper side at ¥4,800 that is still a lot for such a tiny figure. If you’re a Rei fan in need of a fix she’s up in the Evangelion store, though of course you’ll need a proxy! She’s set for a November release. Personally, I don’t see anything too exciting here: it’s Rei in her plugsuit, and god knows we have enough of those. I really prefer their 1/7 version from last year a lot more (review).

The week after Wonder Festival we really don’t see that many releases from companies. In fact, they’re usually so busy moving stuff back and resting up that this week would be a “dead week” with only a few figures going up for order. Well, we’re not exactly bursting at the seams with them, but we do have enough for a roundup! And some very nice ones at that, including (finally) another one of Alter’s Witches, Meat from Good Smile Company, and a really big bunny girl. So hit the jump to check them all out!

Another month, another batch of magazine scans! But no matter how many times it happens I still seem to get excited. And trust me, there’s a lot to get excited about this month! We’ve got some amazing reveals, including a new addition to Alter’s Shining Hearts line and a ton of new figures from MegaHouse. Of course there are also new sculpts and new colored figures as well, so hit the jump to check them all out!

Welcome to another month’s worth of magazine scans! This time they’re on the lighter side, with several companies missing along with a total lack of Nendoroids. However, there are still some goodies to behold of course! Alter’s newest Strike Witch, a Max Factory figure revived from the grave, many cute swimsuit gals from AlphaMax & Wave, and some excellent new model kits. So hit the jump and let’s get started!

This week had a ton of really great releases, more than we usually see in such a short period of time! Some really big-deal figures that have been hyped for a while were finally released, right in time for the companies to unveil a whole new batch for Wonder Festival. Well, that’s great news for collectors–knowing that we won’t have to wait another 6 months for figures is always a bonus!
We had a lot of game-related figures this week, with offerings from several big series like the Tales Of franchise, Metroid, and Persona. Of course there were also Beach Queens, figmas, swimsuit girls, and the usual NSFW offerings, but surprisingly no Nendoroids! Hit the jump to check it all out.
