@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Another month, another round of magazine scans! Like clockwork, it’s that time again. This time we’ve got a whole lot of Tony Taka for you guys, which makes me a very happy camper. Heck, every figure release in the world could be Tony Taka and I’d be pleased.
Of course we’ve got other things: Devil Survivor, Fate/Stay Night, Miku, the inevitable Cattleya, figmas, Nendoroids… and not a boy in sight! So check them all out below.

Lechery, what has happened to you?! After the tricycle riding warriors, fake mermaids, college “students,” and little red banana hood I kind of expected their next figure to be a rollerskating nazi in a maid uniform holding a baby elephant. Cause come on, you know you could buy that so hard. Another idea for Lechery: cat-eared astronaut siting on a park bench feeding a velociraptor. Or a centipede girl in a flight attendant’s outfit serving fruity cocktails! Oh man, they really need to hire me.
Anyway, their newest figure is so painfully mundane. Okay, she’s actually kind of cute: a schoolgirl sitting provocatively in a chair, dangling her school bag on her leg. The only weird thing is how gravity-defying her pose is. Seriously, have you tried to sit like that? You’d fall over in like 2 seconds, it’s really strenuous on your abdominal muscles! Oh, and you can take her clothes of of course. I mean, it is Lechery we’re talking about.

I kind of have a thing for wedding figures. They’re so sweet and innocent and lovely! Which is not really the best kind of figure to love, because they are few and far between. I have a gorgeous wedding Tamaki and a set of Lucky Star prizes, but other than that I am pretty much out of luck, so you can imagine my joy when one of my favorite companies announced a figure of a pink-haired demon girl wedding figure at Winter Wonder Festival. Three things I love in a pretty 1/6 scale package?! Yes please!
Momo Belia Deviluke from To LOVEru has been surprisingly popular recently, with a really cute figure from Alter and a swimsuit version from AlphaMax, but I think this one puts them both to shame. It’s just so lovely and sparking and… ahh, I’m in love! Of course since she’s on the taller side she’s a bit pricey at ¥9,800 but I don’t even care, I have to own her!

We just saw this figure at MegaHobby Expo, but here she is again–all in promo pictures and ready for orders which open on the 29th! Oops, I usually save that info for the end so you read through my ramblings. Oh well. Anyway, if you’re still here, I’m quite enamored with this figure despite some of the criticism it’s getting (which is mainly that we have too many Sabers).
Okay, so the main criticism-that this looks too much like the Wave Beach Queen-is perfectly legitimate. Of course at 1/6 scale this version is twice as big and twice as detailed. Pretty much everything I prefer on the Alter version. The pose, the outfit, the hair, the bow, the icepop, it’s all just better! Except for the face, which I’ll admit Wave got just a bit cuter. But I guess Alter isn’t exactly supposed to be endearing, is she?

I’ll admit, when we first got word that Alter would be doing a swimsuit version of Saber Alter I wasn’t exactly happy. I mean, it’s the same swimsuit and almost the same pose as the Wave Beach Queen. Sure, it’s Alter so the quality will be a million times better and she’s a generous 1/6 scale, but do I really need a big swimsuit Alter in my life?
After seeing her painted, turns out the answer is yes! Who would have thought that I’d be craving yet another Saber after feeling almost worn out by so many of them. But I do love Alter almost as much as Lily, and the sulky pose combined with her pale white skin really is lovely. We should see orders soon, since she’s slated for a fall release.

After a few rather lackluster months, the Hobby Japan scans are back on track! We have a pretty action-packed lineup for you this time around, with almost twice as many figures as we’ve been seeing the past few months. Though let’s start up with a bit of bad news: there’s rumors from these scans that figma Strength has been cancelled! Only rumors, but anyway, let’s get onto the good.
We’ve got lots of ladies for you, and finally the return of Good Smile Company & co in the scaled figure section. I don’t know why they went missing for so long but oh well, they’re back now with some shiny goodies. We’ve also got not one but TWO devils from the Seven Sins lineup, which is awesome because for the past few months it’s been nothing but art. So without any more delays, hit the jump and let’s get right to the good stuff!

When it was announced in last month’s magazine scans that Tony Taka’s lovely butterfly girl illustration would be made into a figure by Kotobukiya, I was practically foaming at the mouth. I mean, first off, it was the April illustration for his 2013 calendar–my birth month! Second, she has so many fantastic elements–soft pastel colors, twintails, wings, an amazing outfit, and it’s Tony freaking Taka!
Now we aare getting a look at the sculpt, and she looks phenomenal! We also have a name (Daisy-chan) along with a scale. She will be 1/6, and Koto doesn’t joke around about that scale. She is going to be BIG. I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

So far, DC’s Bombshell line, which is based on classic pinup art, has been nothing but a smashing success. The first two, Supergirl and Wonder Woman, were absolutely spectacular. Seriously, I was pawing at the glass when we first saw them. They couldn’t be released fast enough! Granted, I was a bit less enthusiastic about Poison Ivy–something about her didn’t seem quite as magical, but she still had a ton of fans, and rightfully so! Of course I was over the moon with excitement when we found out that Harley Quinn would be next.
We were told there would be a bomb theme, but it seems that got dropped somewhere along the way. In my mind I had this fantastic image of Harley actually riding a bomb, like the pinup girls on the side of WWII planes. Imagine that! So for me, the final product doesn’t quite live up to my expectations. She’s nice, but not as nice as Supergirl, Wonder Woman and Poison Ivy: there’s a spark with the other 3 that seems to be missing here, which is sad because I adore Harley. Hopefully she looks nicer when we get to check her out in person at SDCC!

In a totally out of left field announcement, it seems like we will finally be getting some decent figures from the Captain Harlock franchise! You know, only a decade or so after the anime. Actually there is a new movie in the works so it’s not that surprising, but it’s always nice to see newer characters brought into the 3D realm of toy collecting no matter the reason.
We have two companies working on the Captain and presumably Yuuki Kei as well: Square-Enix has confirmed Play-Arts Kai of both of them, and Hot Toys has announced that they will be working on 1/6 scale action figures from the series. Definitely Captain Harlock, probably Yuuki. And Emeraldas. Someone please give me an Emeraldas.

I’m sure by now you all know how I feel about elf girls: I really, really love them. And seeing how Orchid Seed is one of my favorite companies, I knew this beachy Alleyne was destined to be a winner (at least in my book). She’s got a gorgeous face, doesn’t look like she’s been half starved to death, and hey, her bikini is made of leaves! But sometimes Orchid Seed tends to be overly forgiving in their promotional shots, so it’s always nice to get a closer look at the color sample from another source.
So today we’re bringing you a big gallery of this elven fighter, including the castoff shots that OS always skirts around! Unlike most of their ladies, Alleyne is fully castoffable. If you’ve been following us for a while you know I always keep my ladies fully clothed, but for others I’m sure this is an appreciated addition. I’m kind of wondering if Orchid will do more Queen’s Blade girls–I’d love to see them take on Ymir!
