Well, we all knew it was going to happen. After the RAH Madoka Kaname and Mami Tomoe, HomuHomu was inevitable. The three seem to be a pair–some companies leave Sayaka and Kyoko out, though I’m sure they’ll get their moment in the RAH spotlight too. Honestly, the line doesn’t do that much for me since they’re basically big figmas and way out of my budget. However, they’ve done something awesome with Homura and included both “versions” of her–hair braided and hair down, though you only get her magical girl body.
She comes with a TON of extras of course, mainly her buttload of weaponry. She’s also got 3 faces (stern, yelling, happy), her glasses, and the aforementioned extra hair. But on a figure this big you have to nitpick, and boy do I have some nits to pick. First off the shoes/tights transition is terrible and nothing like the anime, and second her bangs seem to be off-center making her eyes look wonky. Other than that though she does look great, though even I am not enough of a Madoka fan to go for this. If it was a Dollfie, on the other hand…

Those big heads do NOT balance well! In fact, I only own two: the Lunatic Queen and Melissa (because she looks just like Lady Blackhawk). But every once in a while one comes along that really grabs my attention, and Queen Rosalind (or Rosarind, depending on how you translate the Japanese r/l) definitely fits the bill!</p> <p>This regal girl has it all going on: stunning faceup, a gorgeous stock outfit, a lovely wig that doesn’t look like it would be too hard to manage. Of course the good ones always tend to be 1) limited or 2) expensive, and sometimes a combination of both. To buy this beauty you’ll need to contact <a href="https://www.facebook.com/MagmaHeritage" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.facebook.com']);" target="_blank">Magma Heritage</a> directly, and I can promise you it won’t come cheap. Almost all figure companies go on vacation until the 4th, and when they come back they’re not exactly at the top of their game. Releases come out at a trickle, and they tend to save the big figures for later in the month when we’ve all recovered from the holiday rush.</p> <p>But of course that doesn’t mean we have nothing for you this week! That is exactly what happened when I first laid eyes on the images of Asmus Toys’ The Swan statue, sculpted by the very talented <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/PKKing%E5%8E%9F%E5%9E%8B%E5%B8%AB/271906246248011" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.facebook.com']);" target="_blank">PKKing </a>and illustrated by Po Wen. The detail here is just breathtaking, with every single feather on these ladies sculpted to perfection. And their faces! My heart is aflutter.</p> <p>The Swan comes in, unsurprisingly, both Black and White versions. While I usually go for the darker style I prefer the White Swan of the two of them, but both are effortlessly elegant and I need them right now. Of course they won’t be easy to get: pre-orders for April are open on <a href="http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=0.0.0.31.Qt3H74&id=16881389764" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://item.taobao.com']);" target="_blank">Taobao</a> and <a href="http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21301028931741#auc" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://goods.ruten.com.tw']);" target="_blank">Ruten</a>, but you’re going to need a proxy and they’re already around $200 a pop before fees and shipping. She’s got everything from a shrine maiden getup to some scantily clad ensembles (yes, that is Bondage Soniko’s top), along with some cosplay. We’ve even got Black Rock Shooter Madoka! Now I kind of regret not getting one. That’s right, the year really is drawing to a close. Which means thinking of a list of our favorite figures, working on golden butt and boobie awards, and oh yeah.. scans! We already saw the <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/queens-blades-irma-is-finally-getting-a-figure" target="_blank">announcement of Irma</a> but of course that’s not all (though honestly there’s not as much new as usual this time around). We’ve got lots and lots of swimsuit girls, and a few gems thrown in. It was an unusual but exciting choice for the company, and I was really looking forward to the final product. Well we’re getting a detailed look at the prototype now and hot damn is he looking fantastic! Seriously, that first picture looks like it was taken right from the game.</p> <p>He stands at an impressive 1/6 scale and will come out in June in the US (May in Japan). He even lights up! Ah, wouldn’t that be a wonderful night light, Isaac Clarke standing over a bloody necromorph. This is mostly because after some Nendoroid- and figma-light months we ended up getting seemingly a year’s worth of both in one box. Oh AmiAmi, you are the best at box tetris! They’ve already produced 3 full-sized sculpts of her, with 7 colorways in total, and they have 2 more sculpts in the works! Oh, and let’s not forget about the minifigure set. However, while their Sonikos are prolific they are also the best in terms of quality, so I think no fans are complaining about their newest versions.</p> <p>We’ve already <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/take-a-closer-look-at-orchid-seeds-15-super-soniko" target="_blank">taken a close look at the 1/5 scale swimsuit version</a>, and there are some more shots of her… assets here. But finally we’re also getting a look at Cheerleader Soniko, who comes in at 1/6 scale. At the moment these both seem to be must-get figures for fans of the busty pink-haired songstress, the detail is phenomenal!
