Best Of lists tend to bug me a little bit. Take, for instance, Akibahobby’s Best Of 2011 list. It’s not based on the best sculpting, the best coloration, the best quality control, the best posing… the best anything, really. I think it’s basically a popularity contest, and I’d argue that in terms of objective “best figures” for 2011 Chie is the only one that really belongs there (sorry, LAT Miku, but you look freaking bizarre from the side). No one is ever happy about a Best Of list because, in one roundabout way or another, it’s saying “these were the best, your choices aren’t good enough for us.”
So here at Plastikitty, we’re not doing a Best Of list, we’re doing a list of our favorite (PVC) figures! It’s long and eclectic, with choices I am sure many other people wouldn’t make. Some of these, yes, are some of the best-sculpted, best-posed, etc, but we’re not going to make any claims that these are the very best of 2011. They’re our favorites, though, and considering how many PVC figures we got this year I think that counts for something!

They’re obviously owned by AmiAmi, but so far we haven’t seen a figure of their mascot. Instead they seem to take on mostly smaller titles that don’t have a ton of popularity, but they produce some awesome figures! At WonFest they had their Madoka Kyouno who we <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/magazine-scans-may-2012" target="_blank">saw in scans</a>, and announced a matching Muginami! She was actually the only new announcement. There were two other figures there though, both in swimsuits. The oddly scaled (1/9) Fang Lin Yin was there, though I think the paint is a little flat-looking.
