2012 Archive

  • We already showed you Kotobukiya’s awesome Fire Sakuya, Dark Magician, and their new Fate, but of course they had a lot more: enough for two full teaser posts, in fact! Everything they teased showed up: there’s the bikini Ichika, Kirino & Kuroneko looking very cute in summer wear, Vash fully painted, Princess of Crystal, and an amazing Kuroyukihime. They also had a pretty awesome Evangelion set… of the Evas! The surprise reveal was a new Nymph, who is looking quite cute. Perhaps most interesting is an entire new line called Co-Poche that seems to be along the lines of Nendoroids and Chibi-Arts. A ton were announced including Madoka Kaname, Mami Tomoe, Miki Hoshii, Haruka Amami, Kirino Kousaka, Dark Magician Girl, and Saber. It’ll be interesting to see how this line shapes up! • We’ve already shown you the big-deal figmas like Goddess Madoka, Soniko, the Avengers line, Kid Icarus, Labrys, Racing Miku, and the BRS girls, but of course there are lots more where that came from! In fact, there’s a whole lot of new, but let’s start with the stuff we already knew about. Figma Nyarlathotep is painted as is Henrietta, the new Guts is sculpted, and that Nanoha is complete, along with 3 other Nanoha figmas! There are two Fates (loli and grown up) and an announced Hayate Yagami. So, onto the new. We’ve got two figmas from Sword Art Online, Asuna Yuuki and Kazuto Kirigaya/Kirito. To go with Labrys there’s a new Aegis, this time based on her Arena design. We’re also getting a male figma (gasp!) of Cobra from Space Adventure Cobra, as well as two Muv-Luv figmas of Yui and Cryska! Last but not least are two new Archetype figmas, which are essentially blank for you to customize. [via GSC_GUMA]

  • We’ve taken a look at a lot of Alter’s larger announcements, but now it’s time for some of the overlooked ladies! We have two new announcements: Touko Aozaki from Mahou Tsukai no Yoru who is sculpted, and art for Kazuno from Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. Then there’s two “older” figures. Their Mirakurun is painted and looks fantastic while Akari is sculpted as well, and Kongiku is also here! She was sculpted at last WonFest, but was marked DNF, however now we can finally show you her! [via Figure/GK, IEEE802.11 & kken’s Twitter]

  • Yamato teased that they’d have a Soniko at Wonder Festival, but not what one they’d be going with. They’ve done a babydoll Soniko (NSFW review) which is actually getting a new colorway that you can check out in the gallery, and the new one… is in almost the same outfit. However, they went for a really cute pose and it seems like she’ll have quite a few accessories! [via doi_Yoshinao’s Twitter]

  • Alter does like their male figures, in fact they have a separate line for them, so of course they had a few out at Wonder Festival! We’ve got the full reveal for their Waver Velvet, who was teased a few days ago, and the sculpt for Raven who was announced at the Tales of Festival is done as well! Waver looks cute but simple, whereas I think Raven has a more intricate sculpt and interesting base. Both are nice in their own way, but I’m going to need to see some paint before making any decisions. [via Figure/GK]

  • Last time at Wonder Festival, I was quite disappointed by Native’s offerings. I mean, they had almost nothing new sculpted! Now, though, they are really kicking it into full gear. The Kizuki Aruchi art is sculpted, as is (finally!) Misaki Kurehito designed catgirl. They are also going to do two more girls in the Raita-designed Mahou Shoujo line, as well as a risque police officer! [via Figure/GK]

  • While I am head-over-heels in love with Max Factory’s Samurai from 7th Dragon 2020, I had no hopes for more figures from the series. Well I was wrong, wonderfully wrong! They are now working on the Victorian loli Hacker, and she looks every bit as nice as Samurai! [via GSC_GUMA’s Twitter]

  • [EDIT] As pointed out, this is not Feena! It is in fact Lysette Kalar, so we’re a lot more pleased with the sculpt though she is on the simpler side of things. I bet she’ll pop with a coat of paint though! [via GSC_GUMA’s Twitter]

  • We took a look at the anime & manga Nendoroids, now it’s time for those with game-based origins! Actually, this is more like the “Miku Miku Miku” Nendo post. Seriously, it’s almost ALL Miku. There’s the ones previewed in Mikatan’s teasers: the Yukata Miku (a design from Project Diva), Jumbo Miku, and a Nendo based on the design of their life-sized mascot… aka creepy Miku. Then there’s a Santa Miku, Sakura Miku, and several Petits: the Append set, and a Chinese Miku Petit. Oh, there was one non-Miku Vocaloid: Gumi from last WonFest is now sculpted! So what were the game-related Nendos that aren’t Vocaloids? Well honestly, there aren’t too many! We’re getting a companion Nendoroid to the Male Monster Hunter one that’s, you guessed it, a Female Monster Hunter. Then there’s Asuna Yuuki from Sword Art Online, and Aoko made another appearance. Last but not least are the Touhou girls: Alice is finally sculpted, and Fujiwara no Mokou is the next in the line! [via GSC_GUMA, IEEE802.11, HMV_Anime]

  • There are always a ridiculous number of Nendoroids at Wonder Festival, so many that posting then in individual posts would probably take days. So instead we’re going to bring you roundups! First, the anime & manga-based Nendos. We already showed you the BRS Nendoroids, but there’s a whole lot more, though honestly I don’t find this batch as exciting as last WonFest’s. First up we’ve got the girls in Mikatan’s teaser, Hakase and Akari! Then there are a few Nendos we knew about that are now painted/sculpted: Erica Hartmann, Mirai, Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois, and Kanna Tanigawa. As for new announcements, I find them a bit underwhelming. We’ve got Frau Koujirou and Akiho Senomiya from Robotics;Notes, Yuno from Hidamari Sketch, and Sakai Wakana from Tari Tari. Personally, I’m most excited by the 3 Muv-Luv girls: Cryska Barchenowa is sculpted, Inia Sestina is in art-form, and Yui Takamura is only an announcement, but I think pluguits are a nice change of pace for the Nendo world!
