  • It’s that time again! Wonder Festival is only 2 days away, so we’re bringing you our annual roundup of some of the best garage kits that will be at the event. Because, as you probably know, Wonder Festival has way more gks than PVC figures but we can’t get our greedy little paws on them. Plus, if we did, we can’t paint. But, as always, if you can paint/will be at the event, all images are labeled with both the circle & character name. The tides seem to be changing this WonFest. There’s very little of our usual standards, like Miku Hatsune or KanColle, and the new darling Re;Zero seems to have already fallen off. Instead we have a TON of Fate girls (both Grand Order and Extella), quite a bit of Persona 5 merchandise, and some truly stunning original characters. And more Adventure Time! Check them all out after the jump. [via i_con, horikazz, crea mode, amie grand, Akiba Weekend, moeyo, vispo, wonder showcase, mfc]

  • It’s that time again! Time to look at a few of the garage kits that will be on display and for sale at Wonder Festival. Of course for most of us this is just to drool over, but as always if you are attending the event each picture is labeled with the circle & character name! Also, I am insanely jealous of you. The trends this year are basically what you would expect. Tons of Re:Zero (and by that I mean tons of Rem & Ram, who cares about the other characters!), idol shows out in force, and quite a bit of Granblue Fantasy. Some old trends seem to be dying (there’s very little of Miku & Sonico compared to previous years). And, surprisingly, Cartoon Network is represented quite a bit. Check them all out in the gallery below, and let us know what you’d like to see as PVC! [via Grizzry Panda, mokupate, Volks, Kotopora, Primal Heart, fixia, Anadigi, Tinami]

  • While obviously for Wonder Festival is on PVC figures that you can actually buy, there are always 10x more garage kits than commercially produced merchandise. The dealer room is absolutely massive, and if we attempted to hunt down and show you every single kit at the event it’d probably take several days worth of coverage. And, you know, it’s kind of bittersweet because they’re pretty but you can’t buy them (unless you have a proxy + the skill, time, & money to paint one). This year we had a pretty decent lineup, though I have to say I think it was lacking a bit compared to the last few. There was a LOT of Kantai Collection–mostly Iowa and Kashima, oddly enough. Of course we had Fate/Stay Night, IDOLM@STER, Love Live, and tons more (like a surprise Adventure Time figure!). Check them all out in the gallery. [via Dengeki, toshigk, & Ryuko KASINN]

  • It’s that time of year again for San Diego Comic Con exclusives to start pouring in before the show in about a month and first up to the plate this year is Kidrobot, with a whole slew of exclusives. First up is a really awesome limited edition of 200 of The Litch from Adventure Time in an 8″ clear resin rendition for $100. This is probably my favorite of all of the exclusives and definitely something you won’t want to pass up. Then we finally have the final version of the Mr. Sparkle figure from The Simpsons that we showed off a bit of back at Toy Fair and he looks, quite frankly, phenomenal! This 7″ vinyl figure limited to 500 pieces and retailing for $50 is everything a Simpsons fan would want out of a Mr. Sparkle figure and I really hope there’s some left after the show to pick one up myself. Over in video game land we’ve got two new additions: a 7″ version of Shin Akuma from Street Fighter limited to 500 pieces for $50 each and a 3″ metallic Mega Man limited to 1500 pieces for $15 each. The Akuma looks great in this colorway and Mega Man looks like a must own, especially at that price where he doesn’t break the bank as a nice souvenir to take home from the con. Last over in cartoon land we have three pieces: a new glow in the dark version of Jason Freeny’s Anatomical Wabbit featuring a dissected Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes that’s 12″ tall, limited to 500 pieces, and $65, and then two 7″ additions to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line with a gold Shredder and a green Triceraton, which will both be limited to 500 pieces and retail for $40. Now, if you’re looking to score any of these exclusives, Kidrobot is now offering a pre-order situation where you order your items online before the show and then pick up at the show. Starting on June 13th, next Monday, all of these exclusives will be up for pre-order. To pick up your piece at the con you’ll need your order number, ID, and badge, and your names on all three must match, so no picking up for others! No word on what time these will be up on Kidrobot’s site, but that will most likely come in the next few days and best of luck to anyone trying for these.

  • One of my favorite things about Wonder Festival is the garage kits. I mean, on one hand I can’t actually own any of them and that’s kind of sad. But on the other hand, I can’t own any of them so yay not spending money! This year we have a really great mix to share with you. There’s everything from creative to sexy to cute–a lot of cute! Cute Dark Souls, cute Sonico, cute Kill la Kill, cute Polar Bear Cafe. We also have some US shows creeping in (yes, that is Finn & Jake!), a LOT of Kantai Collection (especially the bad girls–and the good girls in swimsuits?), Miku of course, a surprising amount of Persona merch including an amazingly perfect cat Aegis, and so much more. Check it all out in the gallery: and like always, all kits are named with both the circle & character name to help you find it if you’re going to the show! [via Hyaka Koubou, d.o.a.t, Amon, Atelier Hiro, Ryou, Umiyama, Rampage, Ringo Renmei, Fixia, Abeshi15, T’s System]

  • San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner, and you know what that means–exclusives! Kidrobot usually has quite a few offerings, and it’s no surprise that two this year will be from their Adventure Time lineup which has been a huge and successful focus for them. The first is that amazing Puff Fin colorway we saw at Toy Fair with the more pastel color scheme, which of course I wanted immediately. I always like the limited colors more! The second is an alt colorway of the Jake & Rainicorn figure, but it’s also two different characters: Cake and Lord Monochromicorn. Ugh, I need it! Both retail for $49.99 and will be limited, though we don’t have any info about their run numbers at the moment. Hopefully not too limited, because I am dying for that Cake! You can snag these at boot #5645.

  • Just a few days ago, Kidrobot announced a line of Adventure Time figures. Well, several different lines: keychains, blind boxed, and medium-sized vinyl pieces. They had all three out on display at Toy Fair, including all the characters that weren’t in that initial teaser shot! Were you disappointed in the lack of Marceline? Or perhaps you really wanted the gender-bent cast? Well don’t worry, they’re all here in the blind boxed lines! Even Cake. But no Peppermint Butler (unless he’s the chase?), which makes me a little sad. We also got an up-close look at the vinyl Finn, including a pop-art pink and purple alternate colorway that I am totally loving. Check them all out in the gallery! Also there’s a surprise Peter Griffin in there because, well…. cartoons?

  • Kidrobot recently came into some new management, and I think we were all wondering what would come of it. Big changes? New licenses? Well, we have at least one answer! They will be taking on Adventure Time, which has a lot of merch already but let’s be honest, who doesn’t want an army of tiny Gunters? There will be 3 releases at least: the blind boxed series in the header, medium-sized vinyl figures (like the big Finn!), and a set of keychains. While the blind boxed ones look a little clunky, they’re pretty adorable . And I want a real-life Jake coat. [via Spankystokes’ Instagram]

  • You know what is totally awesome? Adventure Time. Coincidentally, you know what there are not enough figures from? That’s right, Adventure Time! Well this is not a piece you can own sadly, but it’s cool all the same. It’s a cast metal sculpture from artist Duncan Shirah of Finn holding his sword and a pig. Do you think he’s going to floop it? I would love to see a whole line of these, preferably for sale and in a price range I can afford. Ah, wishful thinking. Maybe just a tiny Peppermint Butler? Or perhaps some Regular Show action, I’d love to see a Mordecai and Rigby! [via Duncan Shirah]
