@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Even if you haven’t watched Yuru Yuri you probably know about the running gag in which the main protagonist (who is really the dullest of the bunch) is invisible. Because, well, she’s super boring. She got an invisible Beach Queen already, and now it seems like her Nendoroid rendition is getting the ghostly treatment!
This is actually kind of a neat idea, as long as she comes with more than the parts we see here! We only have one shot of her but I assume (read:pray) that there is more. She’s an exclusive but thankfully not of the frighteningly expensive kind: you can snag the bundle of her and the Yuru Yuri CD at AmiAmi for ¥6,825. She’s coming out in June, which gives you a while to save up!

December was (obviously) the last month of 2012, and boy was it a doozy. Even with the massive amount of delays that came late in the year it was just totally jam-packed with releases. In fact, this might actually be our biggest month of orders… ever. Well, maybe excluding July of 2010, where we had an entire wall of loot from SDCC. But in terms of imports, yeah, it’s a bit overwhelming! So hit the jump to check out all the goodies.

When we first saw this sculpt, I found it very ho-hum. I mean we have a ton of Akaris and a ton of swimsuit figures, she just didn’t seem very special. Well she’s not exactly the best swimsuit figure ever, but boy is she cute painted! Her hair and face in particular have fantastic shading and coloring, plus the pose and inner tube are too cute to resist.
She’ll retail for a reasonable ¥6800, especially given that she is 1/7 scale. AlphaMax, you keep getting me with your adorable swimsuit girls! Akari comes out in June, so you have a long time to save up. They’ve also announce a Chinatsu as well to go along with her which I am very much looking forward to.

Welcome to another week of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. We’ve got a little bit of all of them this time around: some really great new sculpts & re-releases, some dreadful decision-making on the part of one figure company, and one downright horrifyingly ugly figure. Oh, and that soul-searing Miku Nendoroid, who could fall into any of the three categories depending on your preference. We’ve also got a massive slew of figures from MegaHouse, a double dose of Kiririn, and some NSFW ladies, so check them all out after the jump!

Akari Akaza from Yuru Yuri sure does seem to be getting a lot of attention, despite the fact that she’s rather a joke in the actual anime. Everyone else is more interesting than her, but apparently the title of ‘heroine’ no matter how tongue-in-cheek is what makers care about more. We just saw Alter’s school uniform version of her, and now it’s AlphaMax’s turn!
At this point, I have so many swimsuit figures that it takes a lot to really catch my attention. Akari here, well.. she’s very simple. A nice sculpt, but a little too simple, especially at a larger 1/7 scale. Well, hopefully fans like her!

It’s been a while since she was first announced, but Alter’ Akari Akaza is finally painted! I wasn’t that impressed with the original sculpt, especially when compared to Mirakurun, but she does look rather cute painted. Not, you know, spectacular: this is definitely one of Alter’s simpler figures, but she does have a certain charm.

Last week was a holiday in Japan, so we had almost no pre-orders aside from figma Nanoha and the AlphaMax Nanoha! But don’t fear, we’re back in business this week! There are quite a few boys this time around, both new and old. While we have no figmas Good Smile makes up for it with three Nendoroids, as well as some cute smaller figures from their umbrella companies. Then, of course, we have the girls: tall girls, tiny girls, ghost girls, they’re all in here, so hit the jump and let’s get started!

We first heard about the Yuru Yuri Nendoroid announcement way back in December, but it took them until Wonder Festival to paint and sculpt Akari Akaza! She’s the “main” heroine of the show, but is often overshadowed by her friends–even so, she remains mildly popular, with a Beach Queen as well as a figure from Alter on the way.
The Nendoroid comes with only a few accessories, but she has the potential for some truly hilarious and drama-filled Nendo scenes. Her faces are quite cute: there’s a winking one, a yelling one, and best of all a dead-eyed almost yandere-like face, complete with tears. Amazing! Akari also comes with many optional parts for posing, but the best piece is her hair buns, which come with alternate attack parts. That’s right, she can attack people with her hair! It seems like they can also be used with other twin-tailed Nendoroids, since there’s an image in the gallery of Nendo Madoka with bazooka hair. I see a showdown with Nendo Golden Darkness in my future. She should be going up for order tonight! I wonder if we’ll be getting the rest of the crew as well? I would love to have a Nendoroid version of Mirakurun.

We’ve taken a look at a lot of Alter’s larger announcements, but now it’s time for some of the overlooked ladies! We have two new announcements: Touko Aozaki from Mahou Tsukai no Yoru who is sculpted, and art for Kazuno from Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. Then there’s two “older” figures. Their Mirakurun is painted and looks fantastic while Akari is sculpted as well, and Kongiku is also here! She was sculpted at last WonFest, but was marked DNF, however now we can finally show you her!

There are always a ridiculous number of Nendoroids at Wonder Festival, so many that posting then in individual posts would probably take days. So instead we’re going to bring you roundups! First, the anime & manga-based Nendos. We already showed you the BRS Nendoroids, but there’s a whole lot more, though honestly I don’t find this batch as exciting as last WonFest’s.
First up we’ve got the girls in Mikatan’s teaser, Hakase and Akari! Then there are a few Nendos we knew about that are now painted/sculpted: Erica Hartmann, Mirai, Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois, and Kanna Tanigawa. As for new announcements, I find them a bit underwhelming. We’ve got Frau Koujirou and Akiho Senomiya from Robotics;Notes, Yuno from Hidamari Sketch, and Sakai Wakana from Tari Tari. Personally, I’m most excited by the 3 Muv-Luv girls: Cryska Barchenowa is sculpted, Inia Sestina is in art-form, and Yui Takamura is only an announcement, but I think pluguits are a nice change of pace for the Nendo world!
