Alicia Archive

  • For a long time, the only collaborations we saw from Alter came from Alpha x Omega, their efforts with MegaHouse. But, well, MegaHouse’s quality has taken a nosedive, so it makes sense for Alter to seek out greener grass. Their new partner in (wallet robbing) crime? Kotobukiya! Which makes sense, actually: they are both some of the few companies left that GSC hasn’t snatched up into their mega-company umbrella. The two will be working together on a Tales of Zestiria series: they’ll do individual figures, but the line as a whole will be meant to be displayed together. Right now we have Kotobukiya’s sculpt for Slay and Alter’s take on Alicia. While I’m not usually drawn to the Tales Of cast, I am loving Alicia! But guys, come on, please give me Judith. I’ll sell you my firstborn child. [via kouya_38’s Twitter]

  • Welcome to another week of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. We’ve got a little bit of all of them this time around: some really great new sculpts & re-releases, some dreadful decision-making on the part of one figure company, and one downright horrifyingly ugly figure. Oh, and that soul-searing Miku Nendoroid, who could fall into any of the three categories depending on your preference. We’ve also got a massive slew of figures from MegaHouse, a double dose of Kiririn, and some NSFW ladies, so check them all out after the jump!

  • Queen’s Blade is rather infamous in the anime world for its, ah, interesting plot and characters. While personally I am not a fan of the show it does have some great character designs like the adorable Ymir and the awesome Alleyne. They’re taking the show (and tabletop game) in a bit of a different direction now with Queen’s Blade Grimoire which features fairy tale characters like Alice and Little Red Riding Hood, though obviously a bit grown up and with less clothing. Alicia (Alice) is the first release in the line, and we saw her painted last month. Now she’s ready to fight for, um, justice or something! While I wish she matched the original art more closely with longer hair & a more frilly skirt, I think she looks quite nice! She’s got a pretty face, cool weapons and an awesome outfit. And since this is Queen’s Blade we are talking about she should be almost fully cast-off. She’ll retail for ¥8,800 with a March release, and orders will go up tonight! [via Megahobby]

  • This month’s magazine scans have been pure ridiculousness. We got an early leak, then some very messy scans, and then the real scans. Now we’re getting more blurry cellphone shots, but it’s of yet another batch of figures we hadn’t seen yet! Seriously Japan, get it together. This set is almost entirely new figures. FREEing is taking on the main Nanoha 3 (Fate, Nanoha & Hayate) in 1/4 scale, this time in bunny outfits! GSC and Gift already collaborated on a 1/4 swimsuit set, but these ones look much better with sharper sculpts. They will be ¥12,800 each with Nanoha hitting shelves in November. Then we’ve got a Kira Yamato G.E.M from MegaHouse, unsurprising given their already up for order Athrun. In a surprising turn of events, Orchid Seed showed off a fully sculpted but until now unannounced figure: a 1/6 scale of Alleyne from Queen’s Blade in a swimsuit. As usual I love the sculpt, but what about the 10+ other figures still in art stage?! Speaking of QB, we’ve also got a MegaHouse figure of Alicia from the spinoff Queen’s Blade: Grimoire. We’re going to be getting a 3rd version of Sakuya/Maxima from Kotobukiya, this time in her fiery red outfit from Shining Blade. You can check out the art for it in the gallery! In the same vein, Yamato’s Maxima is finally painted. There are also a few more completed figures and sculpts: MegaHouse’s Kagura is also painted, Native showed off the sculpt for their Sasaki, MegaHouses’s Medaka is completed, and Art Spirits’ Saya seems to be ready for orders. Phew, that’s a lot of extra stuff! Seems like a lot of figures that have been unfinished for a while are getting a last-minute boost in order to get them up before Wonder Festival.
