@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

[note: the following post contains spoilers for Prometheus]
Hot Toys picks up pretty much all the big action movie licenses, but this is one I really wasn’t expecting: Ridley Scott’s new entry into the Alien franchise, Prometheus! Honestly, it’s not nearly as much of an “action movie” as some of the entries: he describes it as a philosophical horror movie, which is pretty accurate. There are definitely monsters, but not until the very end… and I can’t really see them making an action figure of the Lovecraftian squid baby in its final form. However, that would be pretty damn awesome! But it definitely doesn’t have the same type of iconic beastie as Alien, so I’m betting we’ll be seeing more of the scientists from them.
I think it’s safe to say that Shaw and possibly Holloway will be getting figures in the line, and hopefully David as well since he stole the show. Vickers too, since I’m sure a lot of people will want a 1/6 scale model of Charlize Theron in a skintight suit. My real wish is for an Engineer… though I cringe to think of what the pricetag on that would be, given their size! I rarely buy Hot Toys due to their price and the issues I’ve had with their poseability, but this license has a lot of potential and I can definitely see myself picking up a few.

Kotobukiya had one of the biggest toy-related booths at NYCC, and we’ve already shown you quite a few different things they had on display. On the comic end of things we had the Marvel Statues, the Spiderman announcement, and the new Avengers Iron Man. As far as game toys go, we got a close look at their Bishoujo Liara and the Yoshimitsu statue. Then they showed off their Star Wars line, the exciting new Bishoujo announcements, and we took another look at all of the Bishoujos on display.
But of course that wasn’t all! They had many of the smaller goods on display as well, like the extensive and awesome chopstick line. And their ice trays were on display too, including some brand-new ones from Alien! We have alien-head and egg ice cube trays, which are pretty damn awesome. Then there were the Megaman kits, and even more pictures of Liara and Yoshimitsu. Check them all out after the jump!
