  • X-Plus only had three painted figures at Wonder Festival, but… they were at Wonder Festival, so they get a post! The first and foremost (in both importance and size) is the huge Amazon from Dragon’s Crown. While I still think her proportions are laughable, honestly this looks better than some of the others! Then we have Fairy Tail’s Lucy Heartfilia in a massive 1/4 scale. It’s a swimsuit figure and we have quite a few of her already, so unless you want a giant version of her there’s not much here. Last if Frieza–or Freezer, tehe, in Japanese. [via moeyo]

  • There have been a lot of figures of Sorceress from Dragon’s Crown, and I’ve kind of hated all of them. In fact, I was pretty certain I’d never but a figure of her… but my mind has changed, and from A+ of all companies! I mean, the concept art is nice and there’s much less focus on her boobs than the other renditions, but it’s the face that is selling me: so lovely! Let’s hope it holds up painted. They also showed off the concept art outline for their Amazon! Isn’t it strange that most companies are doing both Sorceress and Amazon, but a third main girl hasn’t really been decided: we’ve got an Elf and Tiki, but not much overlap so far. [via moeyo]

  • Apparently it’s Dragon’s Crown day on Plastikitty! And by “apparently” I mean “writing about MegaHouse’s Sorceress reminded me of empty’s hilarious Amazon so I went to find more pictures of her.” When this figure was shown off at Wonder Festival, I almost couldn’t believe it. I mean… just look at it. She looks like she’s sliding down a fireman’s pole. Sexily. Like a stripper that’s a little confused about where she is. And, of course, there’s the anatomy. I mean, the figure is definitely better than the art–which has one of her legs literally vanishing under the other one–but it’s just… it’s so funny… which is a shame, because I actually think her face is really pretty and I love her hair. But it seems that while there will never be an Amazon figure I will want to own, there will be tons I want to laugh at. Also of note, we have the art for their announced Tiki in the gallery! Hopefully she looks better than her muscular companion… [via Akibahobby]

  • Have you looked at the available Dragon’s Crown figures and thought to yourself, “Man these are too serious. Okay, the anatomy is crazy, but I want a goofy figure from the game. Maybe… Amazon… poledancing! Yeah! With hair that looks like a helmet!” If that is the case, boy oh boy you are in luck because Empty is entering an imaginary contest for the most absurd figure of all time. I can’t even… just look at her. What. [via Akibahobby]

  • Merry Christmas Eve, Plastikitties! Of course magazine scans decided to drop on one of the busiest days of the year–usually we get them on the 21st or 22nd, but this year Japan decided “hey, let’s wait until those crazy Americans are actually doing something!” So this month we are keeping it short and sweet. This is an action packed bunch of scans: MegaHouse has their Dragon’s Crown Sorceress sculpted, release info for their Amazon, and more IDOLM@STER goodies (of course). AlphaMax has a surprise sculpt of Saber Bride that looks amazing! Hyakka Ryouran has a ton of figures in these scans: Inshun Houzouin from Alter, Mataemon Araki from Kaitendoh, and a painted Naoe from New Line. Clayz is bringing a Takeshi Miyagawi Ymir sculpt to PVC (FINALLY!), and MegaHouse’s new Liliana is painted. Amakuni is redoing their Noel (again), this time with a tweaked sculpt, and their Shimakaze is done too. The Seven Sins Satan is… still just a sculpt, and the second Asmodeus is here in more detail. We’ve also got a repaint of Koto’s Kobato, which I am honestly not feeling at all. On the Tony Taka front, swimsuit Nellis is sculpted and looking amazing, and the AlphaMax Viola is painted (and I’m in love!). We’ve got lots of Nendos and the Snow Miku figma, Fairy Tail’s Erza Scarlet, and FREEing has their yukata Tamaki and Inori painted. And last but not least, Alter’s Hayate and Max Factory’s Cerberus make appearances. Phew, that’s a lot of stuff! Check them all out in the gallery. [via Figure/GK]

  • While I’ve been a less-than-enthusiastic supporter of Dragon’s Crown in the figure world, two have won me over so far. First Vertex’s Tiki, and then MegaHouse when they showed off their painted version of Elf. I really thought my issues with the anatomy would prevent me from even thinking about buying her, but she is SO gorgeous! The hair shading is unreal. She popped up with Amazon at MegaHobby, and now we get to take a closer look at both of them! The more I look at Elf, the more I love her. I mean there’s a chipmunk IN HER HOOD. I didn’t even notice that before! We also get to take a, ahem, perhaps too close look at Amazon, who is still a lumpy monstrosity in my eyes. I’m just… scared. What is happening. It’s like She-Hulk ON STEROIDS. Last but not least there’s the full art for Sorceress, who is carrying a frog, so I do have some hope left. [via Digitamin]

  • Okay guys, you’ve won: I like a Dragon’s Crown figure besides Tiki. Elf, even with her totally derpy spine, is a winner for sure. She’s friggin goooorgeous. The hair, the colors, everything is just amazing. I kind of don’t even believe this is MegaHouse, whose quality has fallen quite a bit lately. She seriously looks like an Alter girl! Amazon… well, um… yeah. Those are some muscles right there. Yes sirree. I wonder what Sorceress will turn out like? [via Takeix’s Img.ly]

  • What is up with magazine scans recently? Last month they were just awfully uploaded, and this time around they are so late the exclusives revealed are already up for order. Also… they’re pretty awful. There’s barely anything here worth checking out. Are you sold on this post yet?! Well, there are some goodies–MegaHouse’s Elf and Amazon from Dragon’s Crown are painted, and they announced a Sorceress! Their Morgiana is painted as well. There’s also a brand new Range Murata figure from Alter! Of course there’s more. A giant Siggy from Queen’s Blade, a less giant (but no less tacky) Tomoe, Penguin Parade’s awkward version of Senhime from Hyakka Ryouran, and New Line’s surprisingly nice Naoe. MegaHouse is now pumping out yet another version of their Miki, this time with… a cowboy hat! Also there are Nendoroids we’ve already seen. Hooray! [note: we’re currently having issues with links, images are from 2chan]

  • Every year, MegaHouse is without a doubt the most disappointing company at Wonder Festival. They’re one of the biggest PVC producers, yet year after year they bring nothing new. You know what new figures they had this year? Umi Kousaka from IDOLM@STER Million Live!, which we’re not allowed to show you. LITERALLY THAT IS IT. Oh, and announcements for Melda Dietz and Juuzo Okita from Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199. Wow. Of course they had lots of figures we’ve already seen from Dragon’s Crown, One Piece, Devil Summoner and more that you can check out in the gallery! Meanwhile I’ll just sit over here and sulk. *grumble grumble* [via Akibahobby]

  • We tend to focus on PVC coverage during Wonder Festival because, well… those are the things most of us can buy! But really, there are about ten times as many garage kits at the event as pre-painted PVC. Actually… that might be underestimating it, the garage kit area is HUGE! We’ve already shown you some of the kits that will be at the event like Purple Heart, Yagyuu Toshiyuki’s Marisa Kirisame, an acrobatic Saber Bride, chibi Saber Lily, Toda Satoshi’s terrifying Passionlip, and Coneckers’ Momiji. But of course there are a ton more, and we’ve got some really lovely kits this time around. My personal favorites are Vispo’s astonishing Jeanne d’Arc & her horse–though Jeanne seems very popular this WonFest!–, the bathing suit IDOLM@STER trio, the gory Labrys, and Atelier Hiro’s punk rock Miku Hatsune. And my oh my do we have a lot of Mikus. Chec them all out (and plenty more) in the gallery!
