  • We’ve seen all of the new goodies that Good Smile Company had a toy fair already, like Nendoroid Tracer, the Portal 2 figmas, and Nendoroid Link. But of course they had more than 3 figures out! That would be pretty odd, right? A big booth with just 3 things. Very ominous. Anyway, they had lots of their more US-centric licenses out on display, like the Naruto Nendoroids… which are USA only! Weird, right? But cool. There was also a lot of Zelda, Dota 2, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Suicide Squad, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and of course… that amazing Disney announcement. Check ’em all out below the jump!

  • We saw a lot of individual galleries from Good Smile Company this Toy Fair: figma Samus, the scaled Link, Batman & Superman Nendoroids, figma Yugi, the Zelda Nendoroid, and the Genos Nendoroid. But of course they brought so much more to the event! Like the amazingly goofy art-based figmas, the just-arrived Nendoroid Kirby (who was popular enough to get a re-release literally the day he came out), many of their Nintendo-based Nendoroids, and beautiful scaled figures like Dark Magician Girl and some of their many Mikus. We even got to see Zwyer’s Legend Of Korra figures. Check them all out in the gallery!

  • You have to wonder why Nintendo (and other video game companies) took such a long time to open up their licenses. Given the huge success they’ve had with Bandai and Good Smile Company, can you imagine all the figures we could have had? I know, it’s a tragedy. But thankfully we have them now, and GSC has really been leading the pack. If you thought their Toy Fair display was impressive, wait till you see what they had for NYCC! Well, we saw that preview of the Link figma & scaled figure, but we have tons more pictures. Along with the Link figma and Toon Link Nendoroid, as well as figures from Mario, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Megaman, Fire Emblem… and more! Check them all out below.

  • This year at Toy Fair we already took a closer look at lots of Good Smile Company & Co’s goods: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Statues, Nendoroid Elsa, figma Sakura, figma Kirito, Nendoroid Mario, and Red Hood Miku. But they had tons more, and from many companies! It wasn’t just the usual umbrella there, but all the companies that they sell overseas including Gecco and Kaiyodo. The focus was definitely on American-friendly licenses and figures: lots of game merchandise, a ton of figmas and Nendoroids, and popular series like Fairy Tail and Kill la Kill. Check them all out in the gallery!

  • Remember when Skylanders came out and we all laughed about the stupid figure connectivity and how annoying it was? Well, I have some good news and some bad news. Good news! Tons of Nintendo characters are getting figures. Bad news. They’re part of the same game-connectivity system. It’s called amiibo, and will allow you to use your figures in-game through special chips. Each figure will have personalized data and can level up and save their unique stats. So far we’ve seen how they work with Super Smash Bros Wii U: they can come into the game and assist you. But amiibo is planned to work with a TON of other games like Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Yoshi’s Woolly World, “and more.” Yeah, I think I’ll just stick to playing No Man’s Sky, Reggie. Nintendo fell a little flat at E3 for me this year… but I guess at least I finally get a cute figure of Peach? [via Nintendo]

  • Every time a new Animal Crossing game comes out, it seems like the entire internet is enthralled by it. Or at least, the entire internet of people I know. So of course I am a bit saddened that the franchise doesn’t have a ton of merchandise: sure, there’s the Shizue/Isabelle Nendoroid and many plushes, but I want more! Thankfully, more toys are on the horizon. Jesnet is making soft vinyl figures of Shizue, K.K Slider, Tom Nook, and Reese. You can get them individually (~¥1,300) or in two-packs (¥2,400) on AmiAmi right now with an August release. Of course I’ve ordered all four and am hoping we get some more!

  • It’s nice that we’ve gotten Nendoroids and plushes from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but what I (and many other people!) really want are figures that are a bit easier to display. My hopes were at zero for this dream to come true because honestly, Nintendo doesn’t seem to really care what we want when it comes to figures, or we would have scaled Zeldas and Peaches every which way. Thankfully, this time around we are getting what we want: New Leaf trading figures! Isabelle, Cyrus, Reese, Tom Nook, Digby, Rover, K.K Sliver, Kapp’n, Leif, Dr. Shrunk, and Kicks are all included in this set, along with one secret character. Sadly there are ten packs in a box and 12 total figures, so you will need (at least) two cases to get a full set. However, this is a candy toy, and you get a Choco Egg with each figure! Thus an excuse to buy as many as your heart desires. A case runs only ¥1,410 with a February release on AmiAmi, so it won’t exactly break the bank to bring the whole village into your home.

  • It’s been quite a while since we featured head-swapping fun on the site: in fact, Headswapping Figures part 2 was in last November! And the first a year before that. So I suppose it’s a once-yearly feature, which is like… totally intentional. Yup. This time we’ve got a whole host of amazing figures. Everything from sexy (Belldandy maids, anyone?), to amazing (I want the Millhiore-Kobato mashup in the header so hard), to downright absurd (Eevee as a bodybuilder). There’s a little something for everyone, even Star Wars fans and Kamen Rider aficionados, so check them out after the jump! [via 2chan]

  • It’s been a while since we had a Nico Nico broadcast from Good Smile Company & co with anything worth writing up, mainly since they seem to be doing all their new announcements at random events, on Kahotan’s blog, or on Twitter. But there are quite a few goodies today–nothing brand new, but a whole lot of updates! Only one thing on the scaled figure front, so we’ll get that out of the way first: Racing Miku 2013 is painted, and I’m liking her a lot more now! It’s the little crown. So cute! Then there’s a whole lot of Nendoroid news. Saber Bride is painted and… well, she was before, but here she is again! We get to see some of Winter Clothing Version Isabelle, who comes with awesome effect parts. Then there’s Akari Taiyou and her alternate hair (which might as well be its own figure) from Genei o Kakeru Taiyou, along with the adorable Akagi from Kantai Collection. The table, I need it! Oh, and figma Miho Nishizumi and Yukari Akiyama are here too *yawn* [via mfc]

  • The seasons are changing, and unless you’re messed with your clock in New Leaf the leaves are changing and winter is about to make its descent on your village! Which means one thing: shitty bug catching. Oh wait, no, no fruit! Bad fish? Actually I think winter fish can be great.. oh! I remember. It’s… winter clothing! Thrilling, right? Nendoroid Isabelle was a huge success, and even I was eventually won over (which was big, since I’m not a huge fan of the character). In an unsurprising move, GSC has seen her success and instead of bringing us new characters (K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, Blathers, Reese…) we’re getting another Isabelle! In winter clothing. Wow, so thrilling. Much surprise. Such shock and excitement. Wow. [via 2chan]
