Anzu Futaba Archive

  • Ahh, Alter. I have almost entirely sworn off buying figures, but when I am tempted it’s Alter at least 50% of the time. Something about them just really gets me in my figure-loving soul. And this event is no exception! While they only had a few goodies on hand, they were all absolutely gorgeous: from their stunning new Gwendolyn to the unbearably adorable Anzu Futaba, Alter still has it going on. Of course there were no big surprises. We have their usual go-to franchises: Fate (this time it’s a casual Lancer), IDOLM@STER, Love Live! (I never stop wanting these girls, sigh), Free!, and Tales of. Plachta from Atelier Sophie was definitely a nice surprise, as I didn’t expect her to turn out so beautifully based on the sculpt. [UPDATE] Added some lovely bonus pictures from Hobby Maniax [via Dengeki & AmiAmi]

  • Once again, Alter’s event booth is totally dominated by idol girls (and some idol boys!). Oddly enough, I kind of hate watching all those shows but I passionately love the figures. Who knows with these things. And oh boy is this a good year for idol-loving peeps. Their stunning Ranko is painted, along with Sachiko. We’ve got the world’s freaking cutest Anzu Futaba and a sassy as hell Shiki Ichinose. As for Love Live!, there are new figures of Rin Hoshizora and Hanayo Koizumi. For the boys, we have Ai Mikaze and Ranmaru Kurosaki from Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ painted and Camus is sculpted. The much-anticipated Okoi from Oboro Muramasa is here, and we have an announcement for Torahime! There was a surprise sculpt for SAO‘s Sinon, the casual Lancer sculpt, Ikumi Mito it painted, and we’ve got a very suggestive maid Lala. Oh, and Santa Alter Saber is on display too! It’s so weird and over the top but I love Christmas figures. [via AmiAmi’s Twitter]

  • I don’t actually like watching idol shows at all, but for some reason (“some reason” come on it’s the cute outfits) they are a huge figure-weakness for me. Especially IDOLM@STER! So imagine my delight when this IM@S event happened. And the tears my wallet is shedding. We have quite a few figures: Aniplex/Stronger’s Haruka, Mirai, and Uzuki trio are painted, as is Phat! Company’s Rika and Max Factory’s Nitta Minami. Phat’s Kirari Moroboshi and Anzu Futaba duo was out on display, and they have a new announcement for Frederica Miyamoto from Cinderella Girls. Last but not least, Anastasia will be the next addition to Volks’ Dollfie Dream line! [via max_machida & Phat Company]

  • Kotobukiya seems to bring a huge booth out wherever they go, so of course Anime Japan was no exception! Of course the star of the show has to be their new IDOLM@STER girl Kanaki Mimura, just on the virtue of this being her first time out on display. And Anzu was there with her too, of course! The newly painted Ken made an appearance, along with another boy: Grell! Then there’s Kantai Collection, of course. Inazuma and Ikazuchi were there both in scaled and Cu-Poche form. Check them out in the gallery! [via Dengeki]

  • Back at Wonder Festival, Kotobukiya showed us their unbearably cute figure of Anzu from IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, a series that’s been quite popular in the figure world this past year. And Koto loves working on figure lines, so from the start I was wondering if we’d get more of the Cinderella Girls. And indeed we are! We have not just announcements but sculpted & painted teasers for Kanaki Mimura and Chieri Ogata. I think it’s both smart and interesting that so far, there’s no overlap with the Good Smile/Phat! Company Cinderella Girls line. They also seem to be going for a very different aesthetic: while the GSC ones are rather flashy, these are softer and more casual. I can’t wait to see if we’ll get more girls: I’d love a casual outfit Ranko! [via Koto’s Twitter]

  • Kotobukiya already showed us a whole lot in teasers, and surprise… it’s all here! The Bishoujos got their own post but here we’ve got everything promised. Ken Kaneki, Miho, Asseylum Vers Allusia, Anzu Futaba! Also, Yukari Akiyama, and the new KanColle girl Inazuma who comes with a surprise friend Ikazuchi. Of course, there’s new stuff as well! Like yet another Saber, yay. Can you feel my enthusiasm? On the happier side they’ll be doing another Bahamut figure: Little Princess Vania! We also have a surprise Durarara announcement which is definitely a mystery at this point, along with announcements for figures of Shinobu Oshino and Ouji Oshino. Then there’s the Shining girls: Excela Noa Aura is fully sculpted and they’ll be making the witch Rinna Mayfield. [via AmiAmi’s Facebook]

  • Kotobukiya is one of the companies that really seems to go all-out with the Wonder Festival teasers, and this year is no exception! We have a TON of them for you. First up is the only full sculpt reveal we’re going to see: Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul. That’s right, we’re getting the full reveal! We also have a painted teaser of Asseylum Vers Allusia from Aldnoah.Zero, aka yet another Saber clone. I bet we’ll be seeing a lot of her at the event! Then we’ve got the more teasers that hint rather than show. We’ll be getting updates on Bishoujos Wasp, Raven, and Sakura Kasugano! They’ll also have the Cu-Poches of Ikazuchi and Chihaya, and that’s not the only IM@S news: they have a full sculpt of Anzu Futaba! Also, Yukari Akiyama will be there as well, along with a new KanColle figure: Inazuma. [UPDATE] Lady Deadpool lives! Thanks to nekonicole for the heads up [via Kotobukiya]

  • We’re less than a month away from Winter Wonder Festival, and you know what that means: for GSC to tease us way in advance about the goodies they will be selling! This year they have a LOT, some of which we already knew about: Snow Miku 2013 (¥4,000) and the IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Petit Nendoroid Set (¥4,000). But of course, there’s new as well! Continuing with the IDOLM@STER theme we have the first figmas from the series, of Anzu Futaba and Rin Shibuya! Sadly Rin is in her school uniform instead of one of her (many) stage getups, but really, Max Factory has been slacking so much recently this is no surprise. At least Anzu is super cute? They’ll both be ¥3,500. Oh, and there’s a fourth item from the series: a large super deformed figure of Kirari Moroboshi from Phat! Company for ¥4,000. Last, but certainly not least, is the “You Are Not Alone” version of Good Smile’s Homura. This in my eyes is the best of the exclusives: yes, it’s technically a “repaint” but she comes with THREE display options (all of which are better than the first version). There’s her end of series ribbon along with her bitchin bow, and then her twintails + glasses combo with either the shield and gun or a golf club. Amazing! Sadly she’ll be quite a lot at ¥9,000. All of these will go up in the GSC store on the 10th and orders will be open until the 18th. [via GSC]

  • When Good Smile announced their IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Petit Nendoroid Set, it was implied that there would be some chases. In fact, we even got hints as to who they would be! Well we’re getting a look at them now… but they’re not chases. In fact, they’re a totally different release–the Live Stage set which comes with 3 Petits (Rika Jougasaki, Kaede Takagaki, and Anzu Futaba) along with a base for them. It’s a shame that these are so much cuter and more elaborate than the actual Petit set–I mean, look at the bird on Kaede’s figure and Rika’s awesome outfit! It seems kind of silly to have them be another release, especially since the Stage 01 set is so small compared to the initial IDOLM@STER one, but that’s GSC for you. Thankfully if you want them they should be in GSC’s online store after the event. [via Mikatan]

  • IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls is a spinoff of, obviously, the Idolm@ster series, and a very popular one at that. Phat! Company has already made a set of minifigures based on the girls, and now we’re getting a small set of Petit Nendoroids as well. There are only 5 here: Anzu Futaba, Rika Jougasaki, Kaeda Takagaki, Rin Shibuya, and Kanako Mimura. While the Phat! set is cuter in my opinion, the fact that these girls can switch faces and accessories with the other Nendoroid Petits is a huge win. Think of the possibilities! This set will go up on the 4th of December, and we can pretty much guarantee that more will come. I mean, it has such a huge cast! [via Mikatan]
