  • The company formerly known as Yamato really went downhill when they switched over to being Arcadia–lower quality and some very odd figure choices have plagued them. But we saw that Flare, a new company that has affiliations with Alter, picked up a figure by one of Yamato’s favorite sculptors: the Cerberus Project Elin! Seems like that won’t be the only Arcadia mess they save. Remember their Bayonetta figure from ages ago? Well, Flare is taking over and will be producing this figure for us! How exciting, especially since I missed out on Phat!’s Bayonetta. I can’t wait to see what they work on next! [via Platinum Games]

  • Arcadia had a whopping two figures out for Summer Wonder Festival WOW U GO GUIZ. The first they already friggin showed us–it’s Roselinde! The other is Lucier from 7th Dragon who is painted and I must admit looks great. But come on, 2 figures? The switch from Yamato to Arcadia did not go well for them. [via Akibahobby]

  • This close to Wonder Festival, we don’t really expect to get a lot of news from companies. Well, we get “news” in the form of teasers, but having an actual reveal is… highly unusual. But then again Arcadia is an usual company, one that shed their own name (Yamato) and kind of forgot how to make figures during the change Roselinde, one of Tony Taka’s many warrior girls from the Shining universe, happens to be one of my favorite as well: like a delicious combination of Clalaclan and Elwing. However, this finished product is not wowing me. She looks… flat? And Kotobukiya is doing a fully armored one, so I will reserve judgment until I can compare them both. [via Arcadia]

  • Arcadia, you’re tearing me apart! Cerberus Project’s Elin sculpts are always so amazing, and they already ruined one by sticking it in a swimsuit. Will this torture never stop? Apparently not, because we have another announcement for an Elin… and, surprise, she’s in a swimsuit. I honestly don’t think this is even going to be a new sculpt. Rather, I expect a variation of Elin 2.0 with different ears, tail & hair to pop up down the line. Sigh. I don’t want her in a swimsuit, Arcadia. Just give me the real deal. Like these cuties. • Ah, Arcadia. Their teasers had 2 things, and they had… 4 at WonFest! Wow. First is the sculpt for 7th Dragon 2020‘s Lucier, who admittedly does look pretty awesome. Then we’ve got the surprise sculpt for Nana Kazuki of God Eater 2, a character I was dying for a figure of. Good job, Arcadia! Then… there’s Elin. We knew they screwed us over and put the Cerberus Project sculpt in a bikini, but we were all hoping for a second version. Well, they gave us a second version! Oh man I wish I didn’t have to put the info here just so you could see it in the gallery and scream at your computer. It’s… a recolor of the swimsuit one! Bwahahah. Oh Arcadia, why. I’m crying and laughing at the same time, it’s brilliant and evil. [UPDATE] Added Bayonetta and a new sculpt of Alisa to the gallery via moeyo [UPDATE 2] The God Eater figures are PLUM, not Arcadia! Sorry for the inconvenience~ But this means we might actually see them released in the near future. [via Akibahobby]

  • Back when Bayonetta came out, a lot of companies rushed to pick up the license. However, they quickly ran into licensing limbo–they’d gotten the rights, but nothing met the approval of Sega (no surprise there). Yamato was the first to show a sculpt of her… 3 years ago. Literally 3 years ago. Phat! Company’s Bayonetta recently reached approval so we hoped that more might show up soon, and lo and behold-here she is! However, Yamato isn’t Yamato anymore. It’s Arcadia! So it took a company change to get this figure painted. We only have teaser shots now, but the full version will be on display at WonFest. I wonder if Kotobukiya’s Bayonetta will ever see the light of day? [via Arcadia’s Twitter]

  • Arcadia (formerly Yamato) has been making a slow and steady pace through the Shining World girls: Mistral Neris, Maxima, Blanc Neige… and now it seems they’re jumping to Shining Blade and taking on a character we haven’t seen a sculpt for yet, Roselinde! She actually does have an announced figure from Kotobukiya, but we haven’t seen any progress on it in a while. Arcadia is a very slow company so I bet it’ll be a full year before we actually see orders (though hopefully the sculpt pops up at WonFest!), but I am a patient Tony Taka fan and can wait a very long time for an armored girl–something we haven’t seen much of since Clalaclan. Don’t drop the ball on this one, Arcadia! [via Joejack DB]

  • When Arcadia unveiled their Winter Wonder Festival teasers, it was very clear that one of them would be Cerberus Project’s version 2 Elin and the other Lucier from 7th Dragon 2020. Well, we were 3/4ths of the way right! Lucier has been confirmed, and they showed off Elin all the way… she’s just not quite what I expected. It’s the Cerberus Project sculpt, all right, but with an unexpected twist. Instead of armor she is in a swimsuit. This figure just went from “must own” to “oh god why never in a million years” which is a shame because the pink hair is amazing. But man… the Cerberus armored version is so good and now we’ll never get it. I’m crying a little. [via Arcana]

  • It seems a little early for Wonder Festival teasers, what with the event being in February, but that isn’t going to stop Arcadia! They’ve got two shiny new announcements of figures they will have on display at the event. The first is not so surprising: it’s one of Cerberus Project’s Elins, which we have featured on the site in garage kit form. Considering how much people loved their first one this is no shocker, and I expect them to make the third one as well! The second announcement, though, is a real surprise: Lucier (that’s right, Lucier, not Lucifer) from 7th Dragon 2020. Max Factory has been roaring through the series, bringing us Samurai, Hacker, Miku, and Psychic…. but they have really been going with the main classes, so this isn’t a character I’d expect them to take on. I adore the art from the game so I am excited to see how this turns out! [via Arcadia]

  • Ever since Yamato switched their name to Arcadia, I’ve been feeling a lack of oomph, which is solidified by their Wonder Festival lineup. There’s like… nothing new. Bad Arcadia, bad! They don’t even have Shunya’s Soniko painted! Well, they do at least have a new Soniko–an action figure, part of their Neuromancer line, in her sailor outfit. Which we have seen zero figures of, so at least it’s something fresh! They also had Neuromancer Rei and Asuka out, so while it’s been 3 years (possibly 4 years?) since their announcement… they are still working on them! No Rei’s not painted, these things take time! Yeah, 3 years.. to paint a figure… what are you, Orchid Seed? The only thing here I can get really excited about is their painted Blanc Neige who looks even better than the raw sculpt. Now to wait 6 months for orders… [via Akibahobby]
