We haven’t gotten the big batch from GSC yet, but I like smaller teasers personally–I love the surprise of WonFest, don’t want to give too much away! Kotobukiya is doing it right with only 3 little teasers, 2 of which are new sculpts. Plastikitty Loot: March 2012

Much like January, our March order ended up coming in very late due to a mess-up on AmiAmi’s end. Why an event is called a “volume” I have no idea, but let’s move along to what GSC had on display. There was nothing brand-new, but they did have the Mikumix Nendoroid which is now rumored to be a standard release as well as a mysterious mini cardboard box that apparently is going up for order on the 25th. While no one has any clue what that could mean, I think it might be hinting at a standard release of that Armored Huke. Or, you know, Good Smile is putting a box up for pre-order.

We also got to see all 4 of their scaled Madoka figures together for the first time, and while I’ve bemoaned their standard poses they really do look great together. Sayaka should be painted soon and go up for order next month, so you won’t have long to wait if you’re dying to see them all painted! They also showed off art from the Cheerful Japan Pixiv contest, which should mean that this Miku will be sculpted soon–my guess is at this Winter Wonder Festival. Continuing with the Cheerful Japan theme, the new scaled Gumako made an appearance.

They also had a few miscellaneous Nendoroids–Menma, Sayaka, Ayase and Haruka, as well as the Saber Zero figma. The yandere from OreImo already had her Nendoroid painted, and now pictures of Kotobukiya’s 1/8 version of her have leaked. We’ve seen this figure unpainted, and the main complaint seemed to be that she was very simple. Even painted, she’s not a super-dynamic pose–but she’s not exactly the kind of character who would jump up and down! So yes, she’s simple, but I think she’s really aimed at fans of the show moreso than collectors who buy for looks.

And while I am usually in that second category, I really loved OreImo so I will definitely get Ayase! She also comes with two faces, happy and pissy. It’s nice that they didn’t save the pissy face for a special edition, because it suits her personality so well. Now, if only she had crazy yandere eyes!

Because she’s small and simple, I expect that her price will be quite low. March seems to be a safe estimate for her release, and since she’s already painted she will probably go up for order soon!
