  • Neko Atsume, the greatest game in the history of mankind, hasn’t been getting a ton of attention in the figure world. Which is, like, basically a crime against humanity. We did get that really cute set of keychains, but I want more! A scaled Cream-san! Plush Haihachi! Give me all the kitties! Well, we are indeed going to be getting more goodies. Plushes, mostly, of quite a few of the kitties, including two rares. The highlight is definitely the giant Manzoku-san, I just wanna squish him. There will also be keycahins, but sadly I don’t think any of this will be easy to get: they’re prize figures from Banpresto, so you’ll have to hunt on the aftermarket most likely. But who cares?! I would do anything for kitties, even that. [via Crane King]

  • Sonico seems to always get her own batch of pre-Wonder Festival announcements. Which is pretty weird, but whatever. She’s the perpetual It Girl! This year we actually have two full reveals. The first is the header’s rollerskating bunny Sonico, which will be manufactred by Banpresto: don’t get too excited, it’s Ichiban Kuji. Then we have what might just be the [edit: smallest, because I’m a moron] figure of her ever: a 1/12 scale from FREEing in.. a bikini. I mean, I guess you can’t do really complicated outfits at that scale. But still. As for just announcements, there will be a suntanned version of Kaitendoh’s bikini Sonico. Along with a few more that will pop up, I’m sure! [via t_santa & Nitro+]

  • It’s time for yet another prize fair! How often do they even have these things? Almost too often, if you ask me, but then again there are a lot of prize figures out there and it’s not like they take a long time in development. This event was jam-packed with all the prize fair usuals: Evangelion, One Piece, Madoka Magica, Kantai Collection. But we also got a huge nostalgia-bomb! A good third of the figures shown off were from much older shows. We’ve got Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor… even some Magic Knight Rayearth figures from Break, which was a big surprise! I love that all these older licenses are opening up, though perhaps my wallet isn’t so thrilled. [via Dengeki]

  • Some terribly uploaded scans are better than none, right? It’s time for another batch of “try not to think about the wonder of old magazine scans and look at these terrible photos!” We’ve got some new(ish) stuff to look at today, including my personal favorite: Kotobukiya’s announced Homura, which is apparently a shrine-maiden kind of deal! Then there’s one of the beautiful Ichiban Kuji Homuras I’ll never own. Koto had a second figure in scans: the brand-new Zenchi no Jingi Minerva from Cardfight!! Vanguard who (surprise) is illustrated by Tony Taka. There’s, of course, some KanColle news: Amakuni has their Amatsukaze sculpted, and has announced a figure of Haruna Kai Ni, one of the Kongou sisters. Orchid Seed’s take on Leviathan is painted and comes with an… interesting second pose. Everything else is MegaHouse: they are adding China Kousaka (In her BEAR GUNDAM OUTFIT) & Rinko Iori to the Gundam Girls Generation line and Sayla Mass to the 1/8 scale collection. Last but not least, there’s an announcement for Izuna the fox girl from Shinrabanshou Chocolate! [via Garisaw’s Twitter, Zexant’s Twitter]

  • Well, we’ve seen a lot of goodies from Miyazawa Model already, but since this is a smaller-scale event there are a ton of companies that only brought one new thing… and it’s not worthy of its own post. So we’re just going to lump them all together! As you can see in the header, Aoshima’s Silica is painted (and so cute!). Pulchra brought Bekki Natsumi from No-Rin, which has the honor of being one of the most boring figures I’ve ever seen. On the slightly-more-exciting side we’ve got a ton of Ichiban Kuji, including some gorgeous Sheryls I’d love to own and a stunning Homura. And let’s not forget X-Plus, who brought a new and suspect-looking Erza Scarlet. [UPDATE] Added PLUM’s new Mira Yamana from Trinity Seven and Revolve’s painted Liu-Li [via moeyo]

  • Prize Fairs are always so exciting. I probably should put my love of prize figures behind me, but they always reel me back in with new goodies! I mean, look at that header. Chock-full of stuff I absolutely have to own. We’ve got another Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor, Evangelion Q figures, Sailor Pluto & Chibi Moon, tons of Kantai Collection prizes… and that’s only scratching the surface! In the gallery you’ll find Puzzle & Dragon, IDOLM@STER, Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, Knights of Sidonia (not the song, though boy is that confusing), Sword Art Online, Girlfriend, Amagi Brilliant Park, Attack on Titan… and more, of course! Check them out below. [via Hobby Maniax & Dengeki]

  • I have faith that one day, magazine scans will return to normal. We will get full previews again, containing all of the new teaser images in glorious HD. Sadly, today is not that day. However, we DO have decent scans of some upcoming ladies! Which, hey, is better than nothing. The stars of the show are two new Nitro+ figures: Amakuni’s Astaroth, who I had my doubts about, and Alter’s new Gotou (though why they don’t just re-release the first one I have no clue). They look gorgeous, and while I wasn’t planning on getting either of them I find myself wanting both! Then we’ve got two figures of Yurika Nijino from Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?: a version from Amakuni with a stunning crescent moon base, and a more basic but still cute scaled figure from Di molto bene. Pulling up the rear is Kotobukiya’s Roselinde who, uh, looks just like she did at Wonder Festival, and then we’ve got some KanColle Ichiban Kujis of Suzuya and Kumano. [via Studiokyawn’s Twitter]

  • There are so many Soniko figures on the market. Too many, you might say. But if any company loves to double up on existing sculpts, it’s…. Griffon. And, you know, Ichiban Kuji. Since this post is about them. Although they aren’t really a “company” but an extension of Banpresto. Ahh, details! Anyway, I actually liked their newest Kuji Soniko. It featured her Tiger Parka outfit (which is now painted!), after all! But of course that’s not enough. Are we getting a recolor? Well, probably, but not right now. They’re taking the base sculpt and… putting her in a bikini! Because if there’s one thing the world needs it’s more Soniko swimsuit figures. [via t_santa & whitenoize]

  • What in the world is up with the sudden streak of magical-girls-as-cheerleaders figures? Did they all decide to join a cheer squad? And if so, when are we getting Sakura Kinomoto and Sailor Moon versions? I mean, the Homura one was pretty weird, but I definitely wasn’t expecting Ichiban Kuji to come out with a Fate & Nanoha so soon after! I’m not ashamed to admit that I find this set absolutely adorable. They’re just… so cute! Especially Nanoha, and I’m usually a huge Fate fan so that’s really saying something. I mean… I kind of want to hunt both of them down on the aftermarket after the lottery in September. There are even little chibi cheerleaders, ee! [via Ichiban Kuji]
