BB-8 Archive

  • Well, tonight’s a big night for Star Wars fans with the Episode VIII trailer coming out during Monday Night Football, but that said, we can’t forget about the movies that have already come out before it and the merchandise from those! Kotobukiya brought the whole lot of their Episode VII: The Force Awakens ArtFX+ figures including the new and amazing First Order Stormtrooper FN-2199 that comes with a blaster and whatever the electro thing is that he used in his fight with Finn. There were also some new additions to the original trilogy line namely, a Return of the Jedi Luke to go with the Darth Vader that is already released (and seen with Luke, that’s not a new figure for those wondering), and also a new standing Emperor Palpatine and Imperial Guard set. I’m personally loving the Luke and Vader together as it recreates quite an iconic moment in the series and I’m also loving both Palpatine figures who would be great for randomly placing around your house to scare others. Check out the gallery below and expect even more of an onslaught of figures come next year after Episode VIII is out.

  • We saw a ton of new Star Wars info at Kotobukiya’s panel, and some of it was even out on display already! Like the Flametrooper, whose flamethrower is truly impressive as you can see here. Do you think it will be clear PVC? Because we all know how I feel about that. They had troopers of every possible combination (including a very cool storming-the-beach diorama from Rogue One), chopsticks of every variation, BB-8 ice cube trays, and much more!

  • We’ve already taken an up-close look at some of Kotobukiya’s newer Star Wars merchandise, like BB-8 and Captain Phasma, but of course they had a lot more going on! I feel like Koto has been making Star Wars figures forever, but they always manage to come up with something new. And, of course, with the new movies coming out we’re gonna have even more to choose from! On display at New York Comic Con were the original cast ArtFX+, lots and lots of chopsticks (including the newer ones that light up), and even bread molds! So your kid can be the coolest on the block with a C3PO sandwich at lunch.

  • It’s kind of amazing how popular BB-8 is, since we have like one scene of him. I mean, for all we know, he could be the next Jar Jar (though I will admit that little kid me liked Jar Jar, the shame). But Star Wars fans are insatiable, since we only have the three original movies and all. Haha, definitely no prequels. I’m team Star Trek, not Wars, but even I can appreciate the cuteness of this little guy. He’s a robot soccer ball! You can get a mini one to entertain your cats! Really, what more do you need from life. A little scaled statue of him, maybe? Well your wish is granted! Here he is, complete with a magnet so you can rotate & pose him. Plus there will be a new (paint-wise, not sculpt-wise) R2-D2 and C3PO to go with him! The gang’s all here, messing stuff up and being cute.
