  • You know, some of us have plans on Valentine’s Day. Plans that involve, you know, going out to fancy dinner. And writing up toy news too, I guess. That’s right, Good Smile decided that vday was the best day to drop the world’s biggest news bomb. They’re doing Overwatch Nendoroids! Tracer is already sculpted, painted, and… up for order?! Oh, and it’s the ‘classic skin edition’ which kind of implies more variants. What is happening. This is certainly great news for Overwatch fans, and I’m sure we are all hoping for a ton more at Wonder Festival. Lil angsty Reaper, maybe? Though I know D-VA is practically guaranteed if they continue on with the line. That’s right, that amazing custom might not be just a pipe dream… Pre-Order At: HLJ | AmiAmi | GSC

  • Overwatch is definitely the game of the moment, but given that it’s a US game we’re not likely to see many figures from it. I mean, many PVC figures, I’m sure we’ll get POPs of every character and all their alternate skins by the time Funko is done with them. But man, I’m sure we all want a really cool scaled figure of our mains. It’s not going to happen, but a girl can dream. And if you’re a talented customizer, you can just make it yourself! That’s what the awesome Gale XV did with this D.Va Nendoroid. Using parts from Agaki, Rider, Elsa, and Snow Miku 2016 they’ve crafted not only a perfect D.Va but a totally amazing and immersive setup for her. Burgers on the table! Bunnies on the ground! Even a tv all set up to play the game. I’m so impressed by this–GSC, people would pay good money for some production Overwatch Nendos! We all want a tiny edgelord harassing our collection. • Since I’m not really a statue collector, there are very few ways to get me interested in a figure from that particular category. Maybe have it be of one of my favorite characters and have a decent face and we’ll talk *cough*DC*cough*. But there are other ways. Like making a badass alien warrior queen with a shockingly beautiful face, wings full of blades and an ass to kill for. Sideshow is not known for their amazing face sculpts, but they knocked it out of the park with StarCraft’s Kerrigan (aka Dwight’s Halloween costume). Everything about this figure is perfection: from her elegant toes to her “I’m gonna kill you with these” wings. And all for the low low price of $379.99! At least she’s 25 inches tall… and they have a payment plan! How bad is it that I’m seriously considering her?

  • At San Diego Comic Con we were able to take an up close look at the sculpt for Sideshow’s new Diablo statue. I was head over heels in love, and waiting patiently for the paint. Well, finally it’s here! To be honest, I think some of the sculpting details are a bit lost with the paint job, though I suppose that’s to be expected unless they shade every single nook and cranny. Which, you know, would be pretty awesome. Of course anything this huge comes at a steep price: Diablo retails for $350 with a slated June release. However, Sideshow is a master of delays–our Rinzler figure from them was over half a year late. You can pre-order this 21 inch tall statue (that’s right, nearly two feet!) on Sideshow’s site, and yes, we are going to get one. How can you resist?!

  • About a day ago, we showed you Sideshow’s amazing Diablo statue prototype with the promise of a detailed gallery. Well, here it is! This is the version of Diablo from┬áDiablo III and the sculpting here is pretty ridiculous, with seemingly ever milimeter worked on in some way. However, those of you with sharp eyes (or honestly, eyes at all) probably noticed something else in that post: an image of Tychus from Starcraft 2! This giant, nearly 20″ tall statue is, believe it or not, fully poseable. And Diablo is nearly two feet! Both of these look great, and let’s just hope that Sideshow continues on with their Blizzard collaborations, as there are a lot of characters and designs from the games that fans would kill to own!

  • Remember that Sideshow Collectible teaser for Diablo III figures? Well, at San Diego Comic Con we’ve just gotten a peek at the full, unpainted sculpt of Diablo himself! This beast is 1/6 scale and looks absolutely massive, judging by the people in the background. The sculpt is amazing looking so far, and while I’m not really keen on Sideshow’s faces that certainly won’t be an issue with Diablo here! This is the only image we have right now, but later in the week we’ll be bringing you a full, detailed gallery from the convention floor! [via Sideshow’s Facebook]

  • Regardless of your thoughts on the story & gameplay of Diablo III, it’s pretty much impossible to deny that it has bitchin’ monster design. Of course we knew from the start that there would be an inevitable flood of merchandise, but I was expecting more along the lines of cheapie NECA action figures. It seems, though, that we’ll be getting some high-end pieces as well, courtesy of Sideshow! The first piece has been announced, and to no one’s surprise it’s Diablo. I’m hoping for a 1/4 scale version. Yeah, 1/4… just picture that glorious beast. While I am pretty iffy on Sideshow’s ability to correctly execute a face, their work on monsters is absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait to see what they have planned for the line!
