One of the darlings of the past Winter Wonder Festival and Spring Miyazawa Model Exhibition was undoubtedly Kotobukiya’s Kobato Hasegawa. She was everything you could want in a figure: beautifully sculpted, adorable, with a great paint job, liberal but tasteful use of clear PVC and a gorgeous base.
Now she’s out, and of course Japan is off doing goofy things with her! Since, apparently, there’s no annoying peg on her leg that gets in the way of posing her off the chair. Or, you know, posing Nendo Kobato in the chair! Check out the shots in the gallery while we all wait patiently for our Kobatos to arrive.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a solid monthly NicoNico broadcast from Good Smile Company & co. Indeed, they’ve been completely lacking in real news recently! Well, they are definitely making up for it with this month’s batch of goodies. They’re all Nendoroids, but boy are there some good ones. Let’s start with the prototypes: on the painted side of things, we’ve got Houki Shinonono from Infinite Stratos (who comes with some great faces) and a Project Mirai version of Miku Hatsune, which just happens to be Nendoroid #300 (called it!). We’ve also got a peek at the Rin & Wooser Nendoroid, along with the announcement for Dark Wooser. As for unpainted prototypes, we have Append versions of Vocaloids Rin & Len along with Kobato Hasegawa from Boku wa.
On the announcement front we have: Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura, Monokuma from Super Dangan-Ronpa, and Rin Natsume from Little Busters along with the aforementioned Dark Wooser. That’s right, finally Sakura! There are some great announcements here, so what are you looking forward to?

You’ve probably noticed a ton of delays from Good Smile Company & co recently, but it’s not really news-worthy since a delay of only a month isn’t exactly unusual in the figure world. However, we just got word of a TON of delays, and it seems like GSC has hit some production snags and is looking to fix them. Now, I’d just like to say that my stance on delays is different from most people: I welcome them! I’d rather wait a few extra months than get a figure with sub-par quality.
Anyway, onto the delays! Goddess Madoka was pushed back to December (no surprises there). The Shiki re-release, Sena, and the Princess of Crystal are all January now. The Golden Caliburn re-release was moved all the way back to February, and Max Factory’s Saber and Kiritsugu duo are January. Their Tomo is also January, and Medaka is February. Aside from Medaka, these were all originally 2012 releases! I hope Good Smile is able to successfully fix their issues and return to the quality we all know and love!

Last week was a holiday in Japan, so we had almost no pre-orders aside from figma Nanoha and the AlphaMax Nanoha! But don’t fear, we’re back in business this week! There are quite a few boys this time around, both new and old. While we have no figmas Good Smile makes up for it with three Nendoroids, as well as some cute smaller figures from their umbrella companies. Then, of course, we have the girls: tall girls, tiny girls, ghost girls, they’re all in here, so hit the jump and let’s get started!

At Wonder Festival this summer we saw the prototypes of two Nendoroids from the light novel Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, and Yozora has already gone up for order. We knew that her partner in grumpiness, Sena, would be painted soon, but Good Smile Company timed this perfectly–the anime for the show is starting up tomorrow, and Sena is going up for order tomorrow as well!
While the base design of the Nendoroid is very lovely, especially her clear butterfly hairpin, she’s worth getting for the extra faces and accessories alone. First off, let’s talk about her faces. She comes with her standard grumpy face, and an adorable crying/frustrated one, but the highlight for me is her star-struck face. That one is going to get a lot of use, I think! I can just imagine it on Kirino… anyway, Sena comes with tons of extra parts as well, to recreate a variety of scenes.
But the extra parts and awesome expressions are just icing on the cake that is Sena’s amazing accessories. She comes with a couch like Yozora, and the two couches can actually be put together to form one giant couch! Then she comes with the makings of a clubroom–a flatscreen TV, a TV stand, a PS2, a controller, and even a PSP! OH. MY. GOD. This is like a Nendoroid accessory dream kit! I’m so tempted to order multiples of her, both for the accessories and for the faces. This is one freaking spectacular Nendoroid package, and even if you don’t like bitchy tsunderes it is most certainly worth buying!

This was a slow week for figures. Most companies were on holiday for Sunday, so we didn’t get any news, and then nothing really notable went up on Monday. I thought Tuesday would be promising, but we got zilch! Turned out that Thursday and Friday were pretty good, but still, not a whole lot went up this week. But there were some surprising releases that I am really looking forward to, and quite a few re-releases, so hit the jump to check them out!

You hear a lot of complaints about the deluge of female Nendos in school uniforms, and I have to say that I definitely agree. Too many cutesy girls in sailor uniforms! But bitchy girls? Yeah, I could always use more of them! Mikatan just showed off some lovely preview pictures of Yozora Mikazuki, from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. She comes with three expressions–bitchy, smiling, and snooty. They remind me a bit of Kirino, who is a lot more tsun than dere. I don’t know a lot about Yozora, but I bet she’s the same way! She also comes with several accessories, including a poster, a PSP, and a… sofa?! Honestly, I’m most excited about the mini PSP. What an awesome accessory!
Yozora won’t be the only member of the light novel coming to Nendo form, as Sena Kashiwazaki was shown off in her unpainted form. These two really look cute together, and I can just picture them having some epically bitchy fights. I love both of their designs, and it seems like they’re quite popular, as both girls are also getting scaled figures from Good Smile Company! Yozora will be going up for order tomorrow, and I know this is one Nendo I’ll be snatching up quickly.
